Ironically, it might be the Gators who ruin it for FSU, because they are so bad this year that they hurt FSU’s Strength of Schedule.
So now I have two reasons to root for the Gators to tank the rest of the year....First, to get Coach Boom Fired, and two, to ruin FSU’s National Title hopes.
That’s Muschamp’s nickname.
Miami is a 22 point dawg to FSU this week.
FSU will cover, easily.
Ha. I can see that.
The guy is an embarrassment. Our recruiting is tanking now, because players realize what a joke he is.
Was Charlie Strong ever strongly considered? Did he want the job?
I’m an Okstate alum and fan. They will get destroyed by Tech if they play like they have been all season. That will help Tech’s ranking because we’re still ranked so high. OU and Baylor both have byes, then play on Thursday the 7th. All the world will see Baylor’s ridiculous team. They’ll embarrass the number 10 team. From what I’ve seen, despite their soft schedule, they’re unstoppable. Baylor will leave their starters in through the third quarter and win 78-20.
Here’s the thing.....The AD pretty much admitted that Muschamp was the only candidate, and no one else was interviewed. Are you kidding me? A guy who never so much as head coached a High School team? A coordinator or “Head Coach In Waiting” is not the same thing.
I am rooting for Baylor....I think they are the real deal and can play with anyone. They’ll probably need to hang 70 on OU though to get serious consideration.
No it is not. Got to be frustrating.
An SEC school is no place for “On the Job Training”...Go head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, or somesuch first.
You’re absolutely right. I hope Art Briles knows that. If they win out, it’ll be a shame if they don’t get a shot at the NT.
The SEC is way overrated this year.
And don’t look now, but Texas seems to be getting their act together. Could come down to the final game at “The Case” to determine the Big 12 Champ.
At least the SEC East is pretty weak.....But the SEC West is still pretty tough, with Bama, LSU, Auburn and A&M.
Thankfully no longer the Coach-in-Waiting at Texas.
We skipped that lightening bolt. We just have to suffer awhile longer with Mack.
That you did.
Missouri broke my heart Saturday night. I know everyone likes to ignore them but they are doing great this year!
Yep, bet that one stung. Tough way to lose a game.
LSU is overrated. Clemson was rated high this year (ACC) because they beat Georgia. But Georgia was overrated. And who did LSU beat that was really good?
soem people are just better as helpers rather than head coaches.
greg robinson is case-in-point
They've been devastated by injuries.
Well, ROLL, TIDE, ROLL. Yawn:)
It stems from when he was DC at Auburn. The defense made a great play and he was caught on tape yelling “Boom Motherf**ker!”
The Cocktail Party has been renamed “The Worlds Largest Outdoor MASH unit” :-)
Watch out for those Bears of Baylor. Sadly, tho, they could run the table and get frozen out of the BS.
Thanks for that. WDE!!!
Sounds like him, alright. Guess that impresses some people.
Not to bash...they were great for who they are, but they were overrated. The reporters needed a couple teams from the SEC in the top 5 so they can keep the myth going that the SEC is clearly the best.
A playoff system this year looks like what will be needed to really determine national champs. Just about all teams have weak schedules. Bama isn’t really playing anyone either...just a bunch of overrated SEC teams.
But with a playoff...I wonder if more teams will try to play even weaker schedules to ensure a chance at a top 4 bid.
He seemed to think so. Many of the Auburn faithful weren't.
It seems 'Bama nation agrees as Saban is now complaining about fans, especially the students, leaving early during the recent blow outs. The administration supposedly is threatening to black ball students if they leave early.
Seven straight titles is what it is.
With four different teams. To be the champ you gotta beat the champ. Yeah it looks like the SEC is overrated but that’s conjecture until it’s played out on the field. Alabama (god I hate them) has given up 26 points combined in all the games since aTm. That’s pretty ridiculous. I think they would beat Oregon (with a month to prepare). FSU would be the toughest test.
#1 team doesn’t mean the whole division is great. Plus they get more opportunity because the hype around them. This year they are guaranteed to be in the national title game if they win out. PAC10, BIG10, ACC all have to fight for the other spot.
I think the playoff will clear up this issue (as long as they don’t put 2 SEC teams in the finals playoffs). But Alabama is definitely a good team. There’s only one team with a better record over last year and this year...and they are trying to avoid them in a national title game.
I think Oregon is the only team that scares Nick Saban.
Oregon is holding back stuff until they need it.
I would not be surprised to see DAT as a wide receiver in the BCS Championship game. That would be a nightmare for Alabama. Oregon has a great passing game, and Alabama’s weakness is in the secondary.
Alabama is fast; Oregon is faster.
It’s ok to be fast, but is Oregon physical enough to compete with Bama?
I've been told that same thing for the last seven years now.
I heard that for 5 weeks leading up to the 2010 BCSCG...
No. And that’s the difference. Elite SEC teams are fast AND physical. We saw it int he 2010 BCS NCG as well as the LSU opener the next year.
Let's see, 60% of all BCS titles have been won by SEC schools. SIXTY PERCENT. Yeah, they must be overrated.
2006: Florida 41 - Ohio St 14
2007: LSU 38 - Ohio St 24
2008: Florida 24 - Oklahoma 14
2009: Alabama 37 - Texas 21
2010: Auburn 22 - Oregon 19
2011: Alabama 21 - LSU 0
2012: Alabama 42 - Notre Dame 14
2013: Alabama ? - TBA
btw, the sole time that an SEC school lost a BCS Championship game, it was to another SEC school.
Why don’t we just stop using SEC, and instead use “The State of Alabama”, they’ve won the last four, and counting.
I would prefer Alabama play Ohio State if only to shut up those obnoxious Buckeye fans just like they did last year against Notre Dame. But I don’t see Stanford stopping Oregon this year.
They are now. Couldn’t say that a few years ago. They barely lost to Auburn that one year in the BCS Championship. That one failure to finish off the tackle hurt them a lot.
You mean the "University of Florida At Columbus."
Uh ya...what BS that is to have two SEC teams in the final. But even so...just having the #1 team doesn’t make the whole conference the best.
Really Mizzou was ranked #5 this year. Really? And what about Georgia...where are they right now? They have the most opportunity to win a BCS title because they are guaranteed at least one team in the title game due to hype.
