The Obama administration is assuring immigrants that applications for Obamacare will not be used to enforce immigration law.
“[Immigration and Customs Enforcement] does not use information about such individuals or members of their household that is obtained for purposes of determining eligibility for such coverage as the basis for pursuing a civil immigration enforcement action against such individuals or members of their household,” a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo reads.

Ironically, some of the few whose healthcare/Insurance status that won’t change is illegal aliens. Why would they sign up for anything. They can still go to the emergency room with the sniffles for free.
And they don’t have to pay the fine if they don’t have health insurance.

That’s what doesn’t make any sense. Illegals don’t qualify for Obamacare, but if they do apply for it, it won’t be held against them.
I’ll go against the grain here, and say that I think this is a GOOD thing. Information submitted to the Obamacare websites should be used ONLY for determining Obamacare eligibility (well, it shouldn’t be used for ANY purposes, since the sites shouldn’t exist, but still . . .). Opening the door to some law enforcement purposes will inevitably lead to other law enforcement agencies getting their grubby hands on the data and using it as a de facto national database for other purposes.
