Posted on 11/01/2013 10:47:39 AM PDT by nickcarraway
A hug turned deadly Tuesday when a man pulled his gun out of his waistband to get it out of the way and it accidentally fired, Phoenix police said.
Police said the 18-year-old man was moving the gun because it was bothering his girlfriend, and she was hit by the bullet when it went off, according to reports in Arizona.
Amanda Mosley, 24, was rushed to a hospital but died of her injuries. Police said the shooting appeared to be accidental, but Maricopa County prosecutors are still looking into the case, according to a Phoenix television station.
An alternate version of the accidental shooting while cleaning the gun.
Self defense, she had a pair of 45’s pointed at him.
He luv’d her to death...
Memo to Self: Don’t hug a thug!
There is more to the story.
Note that they have not released the alleged shooter’s name, but did release the name of the alleged victim.
It could be he was acting in self defense and law enforcement is protecting his identity.
Moron. Get a holster that covers the trigger guard. I wear a pistol EVERY DAY and have for years, and have NEVER had a negligent discharge.
“it” doesn’t just go off...
Unless he pulled a rifle out of his waistband, the youth was breaking the law.
You have to be 21 years old to own a pistol.
I Keep Missing You (But My Aim Is Getting Better)
To buy you must be 21, but not to possess in many states,,
Indeed. No respectable person carries a pistol, unholstered, in his waistband.
And that's why the Mexican carry so no holster evidence of carry.
Guns just don’t “go off”. Anyone who believes this bilge is a mechanical illiterate. Guns don’t think; the owner is supposed to think. This is an alien concept for liberals to get their understanding to recognize.
This is like the mafia ‘kiss of death’, only the huggable version.
There is no excuse. Anybody who knows how to handle a gun does not have accidents. There is zero tolerance for doing stupid things.
What is the Spanish translation for “Booger Hook” & “Bang Switch”?
Also, why is a 24 yr old female dating an 18yr old male, other than the obvious reason....
Not sure if I believe this was really an accident, but assuming it was, the gun didn’t “accidentally go off”, someone “accidentally pulled the TRIGGER”.
This doesn’t pass the smell test. Here’s a link to some pictures of the dead young lady. No name or picture of the shooter—and that lack may be telling the tale.
ELAINE: He took it out.
JERRY: (confused) He what?
ELAINE: He took (blows on her glasses twice to clean them) it out.
JERRY: He took what out?
JERRY: He took It, Out?
ELAINE: Yessiree Bob.
JERRY: He couldn't.
ELAINE: He did.
JERRY: (motions of making out) Well you were involved in some sort of amorous...
JERRY: You mean he just
JERRY: Are you sure?
ELAINE: Oh quite.
JERRY: There was no mistaking it?
ELAINE: (looks straight into his eyes) Jerry.
JERRY: So you were talking, (Elaine makes an agreement sound "mmm") you're having pleasant conversation, (Elaine makes an agreement sound "mmm") then all of sudden...
JERRY: Well I, I can't believe this. I know Phil, he, he's a good friend of mine. We play softball together. How could this be?
ELAINE: Oh it be. (sarcastically) You got any other friends you want to set me up with?
Its an important distinction because there are no accidental discharges only negligent ones.
“and she was hit by the bullet when he pulled the trigger”
There fixed. Geeezzz I swear our media is stupid!
Old news ALERT.
Article is from 10-3-13, isn’t there enough current news?
It was less than 30 days ago. Is there some rule I don’t know about?
Are you Mayor Bloomberg?
Clinton was probably hugging Vincent Foster when Foster was killed.
Yep. I smell it too.
“...and have NEVER had a negligent discharge from the gun.”
There fixed it! :-)
Then why the BS story? Why not just say he shot her in self defence and withold his name?
Ping for later
As my town league instructor told me and the other ten year-olds assembled at the range, there are no firearm accidents, only negligence.
There is more to the story.
When was the last time you read a crime news story and the “victim” was named but the accused was not?
I am skeptical but hopefully an investigation will get to whatever the truth is. I pray for justice. If it’s bogus I hope it’s exposed and the guy goes down, if it really was an accident, I hope it’s vindicated as an accident. Still consequences either way.
possibly as to not plant a bias in the community i case they need future jurors.
>> “There is more to the story.” <<
Who are you, Paul Harvey?
He is not “accused.”
Maricopa does not release names of CCW holders.
Is that a gun your pocket or are you just gla........
She complained about his firearm. What do you expect?
Same here. My finger doesn’t go near the trigger unless I’m already aimed at my target.
List time I checked, the minimum age to carry a handgun in AZ was 21. No?
100 bucks the thug was doing the Mexican Carry method.
There, fixed for accuracy
