Big Oil: So what happened to the $19 billion judgment against Chevron over rainforest pollution in Ecuador? Seems the leftist lawyer behind it all now finds himself in the dock on a RICO rap for a massive fraud.
This has been going on for years, the oft-repeated meme that Chevron, through its Texaco acquisition, polluted the rainforest floor and poisoned its helpless villagers. Activist Bianca Jagger is emblematic of this disregard for fact.
In the Huffington Post, she wrote that while she's no apologist for Chevron's accusers, the bottom line is: "Ecuadorian communities were the victims of exploitation by a multinational corporation, Texaco."

About time. This is already factored into CVX price so don’t buy on this news.
She's famous for something else too. Same thing Sharon Stone's famous for.
Yewww. “Open for Business”.
That ain’t no halloween costume either. Yikes!
Chevron went above and beyond with R&D on soil remediation and leak proofing systems. Their decision to lead the way in soil remediation in partnership with Fluor, got them nothing but total losses on the investment when after time the science determined that nature cleans the soil more effectively when left alone.
It was found that naturally ocurring bacteria in the soil thrives on hydrocarbons (gasoline and oil) and breaks it down into basic elements
this remains Top Secret in the "news" media/disinformation machine
No, I think I got Ms. Jagger and another left-wing bimbo (Margarite Trudeau) mixed up. If I may say in my own defense, Ms. Trudeau was also “related” to Mr. Jagger for an interval of time.
Not done enough in this country. Surprising that it happened in Los Angeles
It must have been very obvious fraud.
Yup. Nature has a way of doing what she does. Almost like seeing ads for “Earth After Man” series. First of all, if we aren’t gonna be here, who cares? Talk about an infrastructure break down. LOL! Don’t think the critters will much care.
Blatant I would think. Possibly pics of the eco’s deliberately pouring oil on the ground in the background? Kind of like an amateur video where you can see the stage hands in the background.
There’s little doubt that Texaco inflicted harm on the people of the Oriente in the first decade or two of operations in Ecuador. But this damage was remediated to the satisfaction of Ecuadorian and international experts by the early 1990s, as stated in this article. But lawuers and greedy environmentalists hate to see the gravy train come to an end, and since 1992 this has become a massive shake-down of Chevron-Texaco on a scale that would make even Jesse Jackson blush.
Here is the definitive site for facts about Texaco in Ecuador: http://www.texaco.com/sitelets/ecuador/en/default.aspx
Thanks for the link.
I’ve been told that sooner or later, we come to wear the face we deserve.
Greedy politicians, corrupt judges, and dishonest lawyers. Sounds like the DemocRat party.
I remember reading (in school) that GE(?) was developing such bacteria back around 1970 to clean up oil spills.
“It must have been very obvious fraud.”
Like Gore-bal warming?
When they were married, they looked like twins!
It time we stopped listening to the losers on the left and start Bslaping these scammers silly
