And so it begins – the plentiful coverage of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy. The date itself is weeks away and there will be countless commemorative programs, specials and copious punditry on TV.
JFK: The Smoking Gun (Sunday, Discovery, 8 p.m.) is one of the most controversial of the bunch. Made for the tiny U.S. cable channel Reelz, it’s a two-hour docudrama based on the book of the same name by former Australian police detective Colin McLaren. He claims to have spent years on “the forensic cold-case investigation of JFK’s assassination” and says he believes he has found “the smoking gun” that killed the president. His conclusion is not the accepted story.

Was it a cold front or a warm front?
Take a look at the bullet that supposedly killed JFK. Anyone who shoots can tell you that bullet did not strike anything... Apart from maybe a pile of sand. And to be honest I have personally dug out less powerful fmj rounds and they were deformed, most folded over.
The bullet on display at the museum in no way went through any bone let alone bones from a couple of people. Conspiracies run from possible to downright crazy,, but a rifle fired at that distance, striking multiple items, would never look like that.
One of the things that most impressed me was the distance from the book depository window to the impact spot. Maybe 50yds or so? Any idiot could have made that shot, but that still doesnt explain that prestine bullet....
Show me the proof that it didn’t come from the back. His head jerked backward and the blood and brain spray went back as well. Look at the film.
Crazy shots sometimes do hit their targets but stand in the Sixth Floor Window sometime and tell me anyone with half a brain would attempt it from there. But will agree that a hungover Secret Service agent makes even less sense.

Look, I’m ready to believe there was a second shooter, and a front shot, but I’ve seen NO proof. I remember how long people bought into the idea of the shooter on the grassy knoll from one of the photos where some type of image can be seen. This was found to be utter B.S.
Seriously, we’re to believe the fatal shot to Kennedy came from the front, and yet nobody (not even the three rail workers n the triple overpass) saw anything?
I’m ready to believe otherwise, but as of this date, these conspiracy theories are nothing but steaming piles of sh*t.
That’s hard to believe because they usually shoot themselves in the foot.
First of all, it couldn’t have been a Dallas cop who shot into the car because there wasn’t a dog in the back seat( Dallas cops are notorious for shooting the family pet). Secondly we know that Jackie didn’t shoot because Clint Eastwood was the agent walking just behind the limo./s

As an aside, I wonder if the film that was taken by the Babushka Lady (whom I think was never located) has any additional evidence? Even after the shot, it appears she kept right on rolling.
It was one of those “heat seeking bullets” that that crazy gun grabber Dem. congresswomen believes in. She was referring to tracers.
Been there done that believe me.

I like the theory that Kennedy was killed by mistake. It appeals to my sardonic side. Connally was the real target, but Oswald was a lousy shot. (Oswald was after Connally because of some military discharge papers dispute.) The real cover-up is that it was better to make Jack a martyr rather than some poor schmuck who was in the way.
I saw that printed once and then disappear, but it was no wilder than some of the other theories.
I don’t know about the Babushka lady.
Maybe Jackie had one of the first fashion accesory dogs like Paris Hilton and the cops were shooting at a family pet lol!

There is also a theory, promoted, iirc, by liberal writer/actor Belzer, in his book DEAD WRONG, that L.B. Johnson was behind it.
I think he was shot from outer space, by a Russian assassination satellite. The Russians also had a chip in Oswald’s brain which they activated, causing him to implicate himself by going to the book depository and his actions afterward.
The limo was moving forward hence the skull and scalp landing on the trunk after transiting straight up. Oswald got one hit but I believe another shot was the “kill” shot. IMO there isn’t a definitive explanation that accounts for the 4 or maybe even 5 shots.
One thing is for sure though- somebody sure killed the hell out of poor old Jack that day
The Head Shot Came from the Front.
How many times do you people who haven’t spent anytime hunting , shooting, killing someone in combat, or cleaning up head wounds in an ER, cling to this insane theory. Bullets leave little holes on entry, and great big holes on exit, with all kinds of blood & body matter spraying away from the point of exit.
Awesome, heat seeking bullets. Kind of like that congress lady who thought hi-cap magazines, if outlawed, would be gone in a generation, cause after you shoot them they are gone! She actually thought the gun consumed the magazine! And these idiots make law for us.....
