2. vain boasting or bluster : rant
Example sentence:

Etymology:
from Italian rodomonte a boaster, from Rodomonte the name of a braggart king of Algiers in epic poems by Boiardo and Ariosto.

did you happen to see the thread yesterday on FR about the Rev David Manning video talking to a fellow HS student of the obams? she said he has always been a pathological liar and engaged in rodomontade. she also had a rather disconcerting pic of our CIC. i will look for the link.
