That is adorable, and I’m going to send it to some of my younger grandkids.

Thanks for posting!

I didn’t find the sound unnerving at all. I liked it.

We though an occasional raccoon was cute until they started bringing friends and relatives and we'd have a dozen of them trying to get in the house and refusing to leave.

(I still think they're cute in someone else's yard)

I’ve fed wild raccoons out of my hand.

But knowing what I do now, never again.
Raccoons, for whatever reason, are prone to rabies. And any wild animal will be cute, cuddly, and somewhat helpless when they are young/infants, but past puberty, they show what they really are.
Wild animals!

Friends of mine were camping this summer and were attacked by a pack of 5 or 6 of them. His wife was torn up badly required many stitches and had to go through the series of painful rabies shots.

They still have no idea why they were attacked just sitting in their camp.

Years ago, wife and I were camping in the Alpine Lakes area of the central cascades.

Two am every morning, something walked around the tent line. This went on every night for the almost week we were there.

I figured it was a raccoon or two, but might have been something bigger - didn’t dare tell her, she would have gotten so freaked we would have had to pull up stakes and leave.

Still got pics from that trip. She is long gone, had an aneurysm in 2000 at 41 yrs old. I still often tear up over it.

But it was/is a precious thing. Little bastids! They’re probably long gone also!

My usual visitors came by this evening. They love dog food. But their favorite is oatmeal cookies ... I’ve been feeding the family since the Mom Coon (I named her BG for bandit girl) brought the five around at around their age ten weeks. Now they just come right in the window and take food from my hands as they sit in my lap. I’m having to slowly ‘ween’ them to foraging more and getting fewer handouts. Winter ‘s coming and I spect they’ll continue to be regulars when it get snowy.

they can chew a hole in your roof and make a cozy home for themselves. They will leave if you use a 38 special, permanitly..Had a farm, they are nasty predators and will kill just for the fun of it...killed more of my farm fowl than I did...(not counting the meat chickens we sold) :O)

that one is cute, but the cat should have attacked...LOL that coon doesn’t take his eyes off the cat even when putting the food in its mouth. would make a nice pelt..I could skin him with an air compressor, single edge razor blade in about 6 minutes.
