Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Porsha Stewart Using Food Stamps?!
Rumor Fix ^ | November 11, 2013 | Erin Humphrey

Rumor has it that Porsha Stewart uses food stamps to buy her food at the local market in Atlanta.

A Kroger grocery store insider spills to MediaTakeOut that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was spotted in line using an EBT card, a system that allows state welfare departments to issue benefits via a payment card.

The insider dishes that they believe they saw Porsha at “Krogers on Piedmont in Buckhead [Atlanta] and she used an EBT card to make her purchases. I couldn’t see exactly what she bought because she was three people ahead of me on line, but it looked like some cereal and some fruits and vegetables.”

It’s not unlikely for reality stars to blow all their money on unnecessary things. But we hope this isn’t the case for Porsha!

RumorFix has calls out to our sources for confirmation.

Expensive shiny beard named after an expensive car.

Do they have platinum EBT-cards?

I read her divorce proceedings aren’t going well for her but she must have some good income cause Bravo has to be paying her. She brings the drama and viewers to that show.

Dang, I feel like a low info voter knowing all the useless gossip!!

No, but I am not surprised at her race.
They all want their “reparations” to never end.

I don’t know who this person is, but she definitely doesn’t look poor. So I’m thinking cheap publicity stunt?

She’s black. Blacks have been trained for the past 60 years that they’re “owed”. Slaves, evil white oppression etc.

“Blacks have been trained for the past 60 years that they’re “owed”..

And they’re not about to give that up easily. Free phones from the “prez”, how could you not vote for him? He gives away a lot of free stuff.

According to my grocery store line statistical gathering over a three year period, the local Kroger takes the EBT card for 7 out of 10 purchases.

Not only is the EBT card for food, it's also aid for families, so it has a cash function also. It can be used to buy cigarettes, booze, etc....It's a dual use card. It has a cash value and a cash for food only value. It's both.

BTW, the 3 non EBT purchases for stuff are either white people, or older black men.

I had never heard of an EBT card. Before I left for the last time in 2004, I did see blacks and only on rare occasion a few whites using food stamps.
If I came back, I guess would think I was in some new country on Mars.

Also every fast food retailer, mini-mart gas station, etc.... I’d venture to say that 50% of the economic transactions in Memphis are based on government allocated funds disbursed to the populace. Even big business enjoys welfare in the form of tax credita based on what zip codes they hire people from. Welfare to work is the new staff at the doctor’s office, hospital, manufacturer, distribution warehouse, etc....That’s not entirely bad, but the results go unchecked and are disasterous for the details of business.
