You are correct. The first photo is the repro.
That’s why I posted the other photo of one of the actual flying machines. We have no color photos of the first iterations of the machine.
I have several tarmac photos of for real, flying machines. I posted the one, on the tarmac with wing watchers. It was under power and preparing for take off.
Their biggest problems were weak engines. The airfoil design was good to excellent, the propulsion systems left a lot to be desired. One or two crashed when they lost power to only one engine.
However, the next iterations were powerful.
Problem was, they ran out of time and money.
The brothers disappeared and were never heard from again.
Another six months, a few more million Marks, things would have not looked so good!
