Ricardo Louis scored on a deflected 73-yard pass on fourth and 18 with 25 seconds left to lift No. 7 Auburn to a stunning 43-38 victory over No. 25 Georgia on Saturday night.
The Tigers (10-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) had blown a 27-7 lead but pulled out one more huge play to continue the biggest turnaround in major college football. From 3-9 last year, they can win the SEC West with a victory in two weeks against No. 1 Alabama.
Auburn's Nick Marshall heaved the ball downfield with two defenders around Louis. It bounced off safety Josh Harvey-Clemons and right into Louis's hands.
Aaron Murray, who had engineered the comeback with three fourth-quarter touchdowns, could only stare helplessly from the bench.
He led Georgia (6-4, 4-3) all the way to Auburn's 20 but his final two passes fell incomplete as time ran out.

Louis not Lewis.
We just learned his name tonight even though we remember him from last week when he has some great plays. I don’t know where he came from but I’m glad he’s a Tiger!
Exactly. ESPECIALLY on fourth down. And interception at that point actually costs you 50 yards in field position. It is basic football fundamentals like that which have cost Georgia dearly just as it did in the SEC Championship game last year when Chris Conley caught that pass 3 yards short of the goal line, allowing time to expire.
I wasn't even looking for his knee. It was clear his elbow was down before the ball crossed the goal line. And in order for him to lunge forward after hitting the ground short of the goal line, he would have had to push off from somewhere, and that somewhere definitely was not his feet.
Just saw it.......WOW! Now that’s an “Immaculate Reception.”
I have yet to see it. Waiting for the highlights and I’ll probably have to wait about 12 hours before I can download here. Really, our IT people just do not understand. Think they’re non-SEC people or somethin’.
That's a good point. Obviously the refs got it wrong, if there is some governing body they should be reprimanded for f_cking up such a big call in such a big game.
We won! I hate questionable calls in a game, but I do not recall a game when someone wasn’t yelling at the ref. They’re just human (with bad eyesight). A good team overcomes that.
We won. WAR EAGLE!
The Miracle At Jordan-Hare.
Holy Crap FL is still beating SC! Too bad your coach is going the get Chiziked me thinks?
There was that one fumble call but I think it was a called correctly.
Wish I could be down there for the Iron Bowl.
I hope he is “Chiziked” seeing how Auburn has turned it around.
My fear is that Muschamp will do just enough to keep his job.
Wish I could, too. That town will be ELECTRIC for the next two weeks.
Makes one think Chizik was Malzahn’s puppet. The way they now run their 5 way option is so cool makes the pro set 3 way option I ran in high school like child’s play. Man is it exciting.
WooHoo! Gators hold SC on 4th down and 3!
There should be an SEC football thread every weekend...I elect you!
With all the talent that Georgia puts into the NFL every year, the lack of achievement at UGA in the BCS field is due to coaching.
Let’s see if UGA can beat GA Tech in Atlanta...certainly the way the “Dawgs” play defense, GA Tech is going to score points against them.
Mississippi State still hanging tough against Bammer. State will probably lose, but the Tahd knows they’ve been in a battle.
I am so looking forward to the Iron Bowl this year, especially if both teams can be contenders for the National Championship. SEC football is so much better than the NFL to me. :)
War Eagle! Way more stressful than it should have been, but can’t beat winning :-)
Ruh roh.
Well I knew it was too good to be true for the Gators to win.
