Right wing cyber attacks on Healthcare.gov website confirmed
Examiner.com ^ | 11/14/2013 | David Phillips

Posted on 11/17/2013 5:55:46 AM PST by Beave Meister

Yesterday, the House Homeland Security Committee published a video on their Youtube page highlighting a portion of the committee questioning Roberta Stempfley, acting assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Cyber-security and Communications, who confirmed at least 16 attacks on the Affordable Care Act’s portal Healthcare.gov website in 2013.

Roberta Stempfley highlighted one successful attack that is designed to deny access to the website called a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. A DDoS attack is designed to make a network unavailable to intended users, generally through a concerted effort to disrupt service such as repeatedly accessing the servers, saturating them with more traffic than the website is designed to handle.

Right wingers have been distributing the link to the necessary tools to perform the attacks on the Healthcare.gov website through social networking, as pointed out by Information Week, and other websites .

The name of the attack tool is called, "Destroy Obama Care!"

Canadian conservatives wrought havoc on the gun registry in Canada until it was finally taken down. We can do the same here.

Nonsense.

I am someone very well skilled to do something like this. No way would I do it. It's broken all by itself, and frankly, I WANT it to work -- so Americans can be horrified at what they are facing.

Of course, no proof of “right wing” organizations being involved. With this regime, it could even be a “false flag” operation to discredit their enemies.

Obamacare is a false flag. It is designed and implemented at obscene cost to fail and its failure is laid at the feet of those who oppose it.

Left-wingers, liberals, progressives and plain old Democrats continue to make these baseless allegations. They have lost their collective mind. The public recognizes the illness behind the allegations and name-calling and you can bet the voters will listen to these sickos less and less.

We know there is an element in the Homeland Security Department with an ominous bent toward the very same methods and tactics the Nazis used to take over and subdue their own people in Germany.

Homeland Security was a good idea but has led us into the current police state.

DDoS attacks are hacker child's play these days. Download the basic file, insert the intended target and launch. Wouldn't surprise me if many of the infected machines are actually government units infected from porn sites.

Ukrainian kids are probably doing it just cause they are bored and it is in the news.

Sorry for your loss.

Ditto. The claim that it's right wing groups is designed purely as a political ploy to deflect blame and I'd add is a piss-poor attempt at Democrats trying to energize a base that frankly doesn't exist on this issue.

Democrats, Republican's alike BOTH hate Obamacare at this point. Let it crumble under it's own insidious weight.

Canadian conservatives wrought havoc on the gun registry in Canada until it was finally taken down.

Your statement is a bit misleading, because there was no hacking or cyber-shenanigans involved.

We simply engaged in a long, non-stop anti-gun-registry campaign of political criticism. And it helped, but the real killer was a combination of price and time - initially promised by the Liberals in 1993 to cost "only" $285 million, after 10 years it still wasn't working and the cost had ballooned to over $2 billion (that's $2000 million).

At that point, the public had had enough and threw the Liberals out. The new Parliament, responding to public sentiment, ended the registry permanently.

There's servers on which it sits. Hacking can involve getting direct access to the server(s).

Which is preferable?

A liberal attack through government on our “current” healthcare insurance programs, which most people were happy with.

Or,

A DDoS attack on a liberal healthcare system which most people despise?

I’d say that, even if the DDoS attack had occurred, that it was done on behalf of the people’s wishes, while Obamacare was an act against the people’s wishes.

Great painting, albeit a much romanticized of when the Redcoats opened fire on a group of men who desired only Liberty.

The real damage done by the patriots came as the Statists — er, I mean Royalists — were withdrawing to Boston.

repeatedly accessing the servers, saturating them with more traffic than the website is designed to handle -- the Obama Administration Department of Just Us promises to find out who that seventh person was..

Is this a high-tech version of "Someone put a racist comment on the dorm bulletin board"? Lots of MSM employees writing stories.. then sudden silence. Meaning of course that the black students did it themselves.

The name of the attack tool is called, "Destroy Obama Care!"

And how does this insidious tool work? Simple. It works by having a user go the the website and attempt to login. That's enough to kill it.

This whole article is just so much chafe to attempt to blame someone, anyone, and preferably those evil right-wingers, for the total pooch-screw that is Obamacare.

Looked through a number of the article out on the web covering this and I find the link to the “right wing” dubious at best.

Journalists making assumptions about the origin of the tool and it’s intended target.

Judging from grammar and spelling at the web site where one downloads this tool, it looks to come from the left more than the right based on my experience reading leftwing sites versus right wing sites.

Right wingers have a better vocabulary and express themselves much better using the written word.

It was about Tuesday of last week when Piglosi came out and said (paraphrased) “The Republicans are doing everything that they can to sabotage Øbamacare” that it was a trial balloon and I knew this sort of slander was coming.

We don’t have to sabotage anything - they sabotaged themselves by foisting a sh!tty product upon the people.

Why would any smart computer savvy young person want to be part of this. I predicted from day one that the young people will retaliate. Oh, did I mention? It's a very bad idea.

Or, possibly an act of patriotism - some are willing to accept consequences up to and including death. The Left doesn't need a reason to demonize us. They are like zombies - brain dead, feed off their fellows, try to corrupt and turn their fellows into what they are.

Speaking of which - I went to W-Mart and saw a Toyota FJ Cruiser with stickers proclaiming it to be a "Zombie Outbreak Response Vehicle". Had those decals on rear side windows. Rear window had a sticker proclaiming "Zombie Response Team" and had a "permit to hunt zombie - no daily bag limit, rifle and handgun of .223 and higher caliber, and the suggestion to decapitate and burn remains to prevent spread.

I'm assuming it was either a Conservative "gun nut" or a Dim trying to be funny w/o realizing he was advocating hunting his own kind.

On a brighter note - there was a woman of about 30 who had her NRA - Stand and Fight sticker.

Right/wrong/bad idea or not, if our side abides by all the "rules", we get stomped...what did Einstein say about insanity?
