I saw one of those the other day. My branch doesn’t have them, but other branches of the same bank do.

Too bad the local bank has to be a cold fortress.

Sounds reasonable! I spent more than a few years working on copier/printer paper feed systems (never currency).

Paper is a funny material, susceptible to problems related to moisture, elasticity, beam strength, static electricity, coefficient of friction, heat expansion, tortuous paths, and phase of the moon.

It’s like pushing a rope. Sorta like QE. ;)

New bills stick to each other better.

When I was a cashier I hated it when we got a shipment of new bills. Everything had to be counted 3 times because of how badly they stuck to each other. And I was told to try and load the automated registers with used bills, because otherwise they’d stick together when the machine tried to give change.

To my way of thinking, I own them all. None has ever refused my request for replenishment. It puts me in a very comfortable frame of mind, no matter how many times I remind myself that this is not necessarily a permanent state of affairs.

In a SHTF event...most likely all electronic money will evaporate.

Cash on hand will be king...

You know, I often think of that, and consider that I might build up a supply over time with extra withdrawals. Maybe time to take it seriously.

That’s really a dramatic cliche, isn’t it? Suddenly being caught out with what you have, and seemingly trivial extras or deficits now becoming crucial ?

I was a slacker scout. A dedicated participant, I went on the campouts and attended all the meetings, but I lagged severely in my advancement. I recall a particular moment at some Jamboree, when I encountered some greenhorn Second Class while I stood there with my Tenderfoot badge.

I was urged on, and largely due to my attendance at Sabbatis in upstate NY, I got the merit badges for Second and First Class. You know, I really felt like a Navy Seal at that point. We even conducted commando raids.

Scouting as a kid was a blast!

As an adult leader later in life I was turned off by all the PC & homo agenda BS. Scouting has left me...

But don’t get me started on all that! Trying to keep the good memories intact...

I was a slacker scout.

I started off that way too...was Patrol Leader of the "Rat Patrol"...LOL

With some guidance I cleaned up my act. Advanced in rank, got inducted into the Order of the Arrow, led the Ceremonial team, got elected Lodge Chief, awarded Vigil Honor, and somehow managed to earn my Eagle badge along the way.

Wouldn't trade those memories for anything!

My hat’s off to you. I remember being in awe of the Order of the Arrow, when I witnessed some inductees undergoing their initiation of labor under vow of silence. This was at Camp Watchung in NJ circa what ... 1959?

Well, here we are all now.

“Seasoned” ie used currency counts more easily than new so there is less chance for a double count. Also the Feds are loosening the definition of “fit” currency as a cost saving
