Im typing as fast as I can----so you will look like an expert baker when you serve up a perfect Buche de Noel.

(1) you cant buy meringue mushrooms--you have to make them.

use an Italian meringue recipe---make rounds and oblongs---glue together w/ icing. Sprinke w/ cocoa powder.

(2) use toy woodland creatures and ghnomes--just tell guests they are not edible.

(3) s/market birthday cake decor has cute items you can use to decorate.....frosting letters spelling out NOEL can hide flaws.

Thanks again, Liz. Next time I plan to use a good thick homemade icing - the commercial brand is really sweet.

I guess Ruth Chris stole Nigella’s recipe for baconated Brussels sprouts.

Another delicious way I serve B/sprouts is w/ chestnuts, and butter added til they glisten.

Easy—except you have to roast and peel the pesky chestnuts.

Nah, Nigella steals from everybody. She’s just such a great writer it’s worth using her recipe just to read her delightful prose.

Quelle scandale-—when Nigella’s wealthy husband hit her publicly, as they were dining out at a fabled restaurant......they later separated.

Just goes to show-—money isn’t everything.

You can’t find roasting chestnuts in NYC anymore?

He hit her?....when??...is he the short old fat guy with the beard, or is that Paula Deen’s husband?

Happened 3-4 months ago-—the guy is tall, slim, and fairly good-looking——NOT PD’s chubby hub.

It’s more Christmassy when you’re making/peeling your own-—nostalgic.

Taxi medallion sells for $1 mill? Gawd...makes rent control look like a good idea...

Yeah, I followed that story eagerly. The beauteous Nigella didn’t deserve to be abused by that elderly, ugly multi-millionaire! I’ve actually eaten in that restaurant - Scott’s I think it was..

Nigella Lawson’s husband is the famous Mr. Saatchi (I forget his first name) who founded with his brother the famous English ad company Saatchi & Saatchi. He’s a multimillionaire who has a famous art gallery, as well. He’s British as well. Nigella is the heiress of the Lyon Tea Company.

Nigella lost her first husband tragically-—a journo, I think-—he had cancer of the throat, or nose, I believe.

Reminds me of poor Michael Douglas-—actor was just diagnosed w/ cancer of the tongue-—none of his high priced doctor ever caught it till now....will have to have horrendous surgery.

I knew Douglas had cancer - I thought he had been cured. (I mean remission.)

Nigella’s husband had throat cancer I believe. Her sister and mother died very young from breast cancer. Her father was Chancellor of the Exchequer until Thatcher.

Michael went around saying he had throat cancer b/c his doctor told him to do so-—the truth was too horrible to envision.

M/D said he will never forget the look on his doctor’s face when he discovered it, and the DR saying, “We need a biopsy.”

SALAD Combine in large server 12 oz cooked pasta---spiral, rotini or shells, 5 chp green onions, 4 chp Romas, 3 chp stalks celery, chopped cucumber, 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh parsley, 3 c crumbled feta, 20 Greek olives (or 20 black olives, very coarsely chopped), 12 minced pepperoncini.

ASSEMBLY Pour dressing over salad; toss gently to coat. Cover/fridge 2-3 hours to meld flavors. NOTE: Can add red onion wheels, fave greens just before serving.

Re: Greek Pasta Salad, and the Zucchini Bites..both look and sound delicious. I think they’d be great for an open house during the Holidays.
