BEIJING China's first unmanned stealth drone made its first test flight in the latest advance for the domestic arms industry, state media reported Friday.
Photos and video of the tailless delta-wing drone flying were posted on the websites of People's Daily and other major outlets. The location of the 20-minute flight made Thursday was identified only as a southwestern China testing base.
The jet powered drone was identified as the Lijian, or "Sharp Sword," photos of which have been circulating for some time. The aircraft is similar to the X-47B drone being tested by the U.S. Navy for aircraft carrier operations, as well as France's experimental Neuron project. Others have reported the drone is a reverse-engineered copy of Russia's Mikoyan Skat unmanned aerial vehicle.

Looks like the one that Obama gave the Iran’s a couple of years back. Fixed it.
The ChiComs are good at copies, of whatever they have the materials capability to duplicate to a certain extent. However, originality, and cutting-edge thinking are not inducive to a long lifespan in that country.
Unless they got their hands on not only the hardware but the operating code of an actual topline drone (note that the ChiComs HAVE NO SUCH machines), the best they can do is use current RC-Toys technology to attempt to pull an Iranian Deception on the world.
Rather like World "Intelligence" Agencies thought for the longest time that the russskies had an aircraft capable of sustained Mach3 flight.
Until an actual aircraft was examined. And most fighter pilots with a brain swore that they would never willingly pilot such a leaking, poorly-riveted, and failure-guaranteed craft. Which pretty much summed up what the pilot of the craft told everyone from the beginning.
The craft picured herein is a fraud. I would sooner believe a PhotoShopped image of a plastic-model flying RC aircraft P-51 Mustang rolling down the runway with a load of ECM pods attached as being a sort of cutting-edge drone. At least that would be slightly more believable.
Seems like an odd place, and an odd way, to put numbers on an airplane.
I just snagged that photo from a search engine. There was not a photo with the original story.
No offence, mate. I simply pointed out that the pic posted could not be a modern “stealth” drone. I did not mean to impugn your credibility in any way, I just immediately flashed back to the UberDrone das Vunderbach announcement from the Iranian laugh not so long ago.
None taken. I was just making sure I met the requirements of full disclosure.
