Actually turkeys fly very well. At least the wild ones do.

It was definitely one of the best ever.

Wild turkeys can fly, a bit though

That was a common situation on TV. For instance most people preferred Mary Ann to the glamorous Ginger.

"One of the greatest of TV Thanksgivings."

Agreed. I would also rate South Park's A History Channel Thansgiving as being right up there towards the top of the list as well...

For those of you who receive "Antenna TV", they are running this episode TONIGHT, with consecutive showings until 10 PM Eastern. I'm watching it now - Les is just now beginning his remote broadcast from the shopping center.

OH MY GOD THEY'RE TURKEYS!!!

Me too! Loni Anderson was supposed to be the blonde bombshell/sexpot, but I always thought Jan Smithers was far more attractive.

Shame she never had much more of a career. It sounds like she has had some mental/emotional issues, based upon that weird auto accident she was involved in a few years back:

I saw a wild turkey flying a few feet above Table Rock lake a while back about dusk, believe it was looking for a roosting site. Very pretty.
Another pretty sight, copperheads swimming. As long as you were in the boat ...

Jan Smithers, was on the cover of one of the news magazines such as Time or Newseek etc. She was on a motorcycle holding on to the driver.

It was a famous picture.

Maybe my sense of humor is different than most but I never understood why so many think that is the funniest thing ever on TV. I watched the clips on YouTube and just don't get it.

OK, so for a radio promotion, they put a bunch of live turkeys up in a helicopter and drop them into a town square in which they crash into a parking lot and die. BTW, they never actually show any turkeys, they just talk about it.

They fly quite well and prefer to roost in trees. Domesticated turkeys bred for slaughter have lost the ability to fly.

I think Les really steals the show in this episode with his “on the spot report” from the Pinedale shopping center.
