Haven't seen a metal clarinet in a long time.
Those bell-front recording tubas weigh about 40 pounds.

Check out Martin Mull doing his “Theme from `Belligerence’ by the Dueling Tubas”. Great sendup of the banjo boy.

If this is a busker ping list, put me on it. Both my sons have made money doing this, one on banjo, the other on blues harp.

That was great! Thanks.
Loved seeing the couples dancing. Was that a version of the Charleston that they younger couple was doing?

On a Tuba the bell points straight up. Isn’t the big horn with the bell facing forward a Sousaphone....or has some genius changed that, too? If so, that’s a slap in the face to THE MARCH KING.

Sousaphone is a slightly different animal. It is in fact a tuba, but is configured to be 'worn' while marching. And yes, the bell faces front:
True, most orchestral tubas have an upright bell:
In the '50s, with the advent of more modern recording techniques, it was decided that a bell-front tuba concentrated the sound better for recording.
Hence, the type of tuba seen in the video.

Just noticed something else. First half of the video, Cornet chick uses a cup mute as a plunger. Never seen that before. Second half, she uses an actual plunger.

Put me on too :).
Anyone seen anything from these folks on youtube or elsewhere? Used to be a lot of material out, but it seems to be mostly scrubbed. And Flo Mingo died :(.

Pretty nice gams on Cornet chick.
Are you worried about learning Clarinet? Terrified of 'The Break'?
Then get yourself into a Dixieland band. You'll learn real quick.
