Both pigs and chimps are mammals. So are humans. If you believe in evolution, at some point they all probably had a common ancestor and therefor some common DNA.

Not the other way around that a chimp and a pig mated and produced offspring.

If this was so, then pigs porking chimps would make fertile humans, EVERY TIME.

well, personally, I'm jealous of the hair in trees-to-savanah version of us...but yeah, i was amazed at the number of physiological issues the water ape theory answers.

Was watching a show that presented the theory, and a thing that stuck with me is how that took a troop of chimps that lived by the water, and started out dropping off a lot of food near the water. Old chimps would wipe the fruit clean of sand, and keep their distance from the water. Younger chimps figured out pretty quick that the lake did a more efficient job of cleaning food, and weren't adverse to going into the water. In less than a generation you had chimps hooting and hollering as they were jumping off cliffs into the water. I know that's no genetic change, but it sure showed a propensity to go aqua.

Yup and the fact that so many of the human adaptations are either re-used “aqua genes” or genes that had to come back because of semi0-aquatic adaptation...

Subcutenous fat, minimised body hair, shape of nose, swimming instinct in infants not seen in chimps, infants covered in fat, etc etc....

Maybe he is a recent convert....

Even if we are supposedly the offspring of pigs and chimps.. then shouldn’t we all appreciate the pigs more.... Appreciate that they are tasty meat candy than should be eaten in bacon form or BBQ form....

Mmmmmmmm

Muzzies are afraid of pork, that it will negate their entrance to paradise.

I have an idea:

Let’s strafe ‘em with TRAFE!

(From orbit, just to be sure!)

Well, that would certainly explain a lot.

I don't know, there is speculation that the Duck Billed Playtypus is the result of a bird mammal hybridization, based on a close look at its genome. At least pigs and monkeys are both mammals, so if there could be a Playtypus from birds and mammals, a mammal to mammal hybrid must be at least as likely. The other thing to consider is the time scale for this to have occurred. Let's say that in an area with many pigs an monkeys, maybe once in 300 years a wild pig mated with a female monkey in heat. Let's then say that one in a thousand parings produced a viable offspring, if my math is right, you're only talking about 300K years. On the other hand, you have millions of years available for this to happen. Given those chances, lots of strange things could happen. It seems so to me anyway.
