The Sons of God were not angelic beings. (It looks like you are suggesting this. I know others have.) Gods makes it clear in Genesis that the kinds reproduce after their own kind. (Genesis 1:21,24,25). Men and women reproduce within their own kind. Angels do not marry and do not reproduce.
"Sons of God" are men who believe on The Lord (see John 1:12). The "daughters of men" are the unsaved females of the unbelieving tribes/groups. God warns us not to be unequally yoked. He told the children of Israel not to interbreed with the occupants of the promised land. And he repeats this in the NT when he commands us not to be "unequally yoked."
“human relatives closer than humans’ current living cousin, the chimpanzee”
So why isn’t there any interbreeding between cousins? lol
Afraid of catching AIDs again? lol
The Hebrew words for the “sons of God” were the same ones used in the book of Job for ‘sons of God” in describing their gathering with God when Satan came to accuse Job and when they “shouted” for joy when God brought creation into being! The Genesis 6 “sons of God” were fallen angels with great power, already dealing with a race of fallen man out of fellowship with God! A human line of “sons of God” would not have created Nephilum genetic giant hybrids...the bones of which are still found. We were spiritually tempted and failed in the garden, then our genetics were demonically interfered with.
But God would send his Son to save those living and those held captive in Hell who would be saved and accept his kingship! Thus Noah was preserved!
“Gods makes it clear in Genesis that the kinds reproduce after their own kind. (Genesis 1:21,24,25).”
The verses state they were created after their kind, not that they can’t reproduce with anything outside their kind. Besides, we have no clue what method might have been used to produce any potential hybrid offspring. For all we know, it may not have been physical reproduction at all.
“Angels do not marry and do not reproduce.”
Angels in heaven don’t marry, sure, but there is no statement as to whether or not they can reproduce, or to whether their not marrying is a strict limitation, or an act of obedience to some law. If it is simply an act of obedience, and the angels in question were fallen, then they may have chosen to disobey.
“”Sons of God” are men who believe on The Lord (see John 1:12). The “daughters of men” are the unsaved females of the unbelieving tribes/groups.”
So, do you believe that just breeding with unbeliever females produces giants? I would say the fact that the offspring are described in unnatural terms suggests an unnatural union produced them.
