No-Fly List Takes Bizarre Turn- Gov't Puts Witness On List, Denies Having Done So
techdirt ^ | Wed, Dec 4th 2013 | Mike Masnick

A Stanford University Ph.D. student named Rahinah Ibrahim was prevented from boarding a flight at San Francisco International Airport in 2005, and was handcuffed and detained by the police. Ultimately, she was allowed to fly to Malaysia, her home country, but she has been unable to return to the United States because the State Department revoked her student visa.

Summation:
The woman's eldest daughter, who was born in the U.S. and is a U.S. citizen, was called as a witness for the trial. Unfortunately, she mysteriously found herself on the no-fly list as well, and wasn't able to board a plane to come to the trial. Lawyers for the Department of Justice told the court that she simply missed her plane, but she was able to provide documents from the airline explaining that the Department of Homeland Security was not allowing her to fly.

-snip-

Judge Alsup wasn’t willing to take any action today on unproven allegations or unverified documents. But he made clear that, “I am disturbed by this…. We’ll hear from her [Ms. Mustafa Kamal] when she gets here. If it turns out that the DHS has sabotaged a witness, that will go against the government’s case. I want a witness from Homeland Security who can testify to what has happened. You find a witness and get them here.”

-snip-

The further details of Ibrahim's life, her arrest and treatment, all suggest a situation where US law enforcement totally screwed up, and seriously mucked up someone's life -- and now they seem to be doing everything possible to avoid taking responsibility for it.

Apparently we need to purge our entire system of government and start over.

Evidently we have more criminals inside government than on the outside.

“Apparently we need to purge our entire system of government and start over.”

I think the bare bones of the system are OK, but yes I think the Federal Gov’t needs to be dismantled. And a whole lot of functionaries need to get on the unemployment line.

Think how much fun it will be when the Government has a “no surgery” list, and a “palliative care only” list.

Think how it will be when the Democrats can tie all kinds of outrageous legislation to budget bills, and then, if the Republicans cross the line and shut down the government, every single hospital, doctor’s office, clinic, and hospital shuts down because the government health-care computer system stops working.

*snort* Carter was at least an imbecile -a PACIFIST idiot, truly. Billy "BJ" the Clintoon and mrs bill were criminals of the worst sort and despite their blatant usurpation of the constitutional limitations they were mandated to operate under, they still managed to begin injecting self-serving flunkies into whatever government agencies they could access.

It has only gotten much worse since then, with Barky seeing no reason to worry about anything else other than initiating every possible method he can to bring about the downfall of the country he despises.

We need to begin by ensuring that the position of the professional politician disappears, before we can concentrate on getting rid of the crooks currently in charge of “governing” the people.

“We need to begin by ensuring that the position of the professional politician disappears...”

Agreed. And to that end I propose that there are NO post office benefits for elected officials. NONE. No pension (they can have a 401 (k) maybe with some match maybe not) No health insurance (duh, cobra), for presidents maybe 1 or 2 years of secret service protection, no more than that, etc.

And I would want this at all levels of gov’t.

I think it would pretty well serve as a de facto term limiting feature.

Seems like they have the computer-system-stops-working thingy down pat already.

The new government should be moved out of DC, to N Dakota or the UP of Michigan.

Basically, the Chicago mob has free access to the WH, if they don't actually live there 24/7.

*laugh* In My case, it is after quite a bit of reflection on the matter. A person whose living is determined by the number of votes he gets, the kickbacks derived from the grafts he engineers, and whose salary is paid for by other people's money... has really no overriding reason to do anything other than pay lip-service to the idiots who got him elected.

Plus; think of mrs bill. Her power depended upon the rank her husband attained, the greater and greater crimes she was able to commit as they rose in power, and the missteps BJ commited she was able to force people to cover up. Her social standing was always her overriding concern -and any politician who attempts to detract from a similar standing for their current wives will quickly come to understand why the book about mrs bill was so succinctly titled: "Hell To Pay".

The fish rots from the head down. Corrupt officials corrupt managers, who corrupt field officers who corrupt the guy set out to “interview” a witness or suspect. How many layers of people like this were complicit in Fast and Furious? As many as were complicit in Waco. This is shameful and dangerous.

*laugh* Thanks for the iconic pic. That pretty much sums her up exactly. Whitewater, Rosewood Lawfirm, Monicagate, Travelgate, Vince Foster, Bimbo Eruptions, Sandy "The Burgler" Bergler, Arkancides, "A Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy", Web Hubbel's kid, an "evil You Tube Video", Benghazigate, IRS Audits and witch-hunts against Conservatives and Tea Party individuals...

It's all just "In The Past"...

All that matters is getting Her Thighness (Hillary Special: two small breasts, two huge thighs, and one oversized left wing) back into Der Spite-Haus. Other than that, what difference indeed? *snicker*

Waco (along with Ruby Ridge) was a crime blatently carried out with the fawning media's support. I still remember when that footage was aired when those four officials were on a side roof during the raid and three of them went in the window they had broken out, whereupon the fourth member promptly stepped back and let off what looked like an entire clip into the room the other three had just entered, promptly killing all three. The three who just happened to be former State Troopers that were bodyguards for BJ back when he was the Georgia Governer.

Government-sanctioned outright murder of Men, women, and children in the name of "protecting the children"...

Where in the ensuing uproar AG Reno "took full responsibility" for "the actions at Waco".

Yet suffered absolutely no consequences for it. No fines, penalties, court hearings, criminal charges, or prison time.

What a country we have become. (/sarc)

What is the one thing that these rogue agencies(IRS, NSA, FDA, EPA, HHS, etc.) all have in common?

The same boss. This is all orchestrated from the White Hut.

Welcome to Amerika, Komrade.

Thank you, I think we need to really start making an issue of this. I feel this is an idea that will have trans-partisan appeal.
