I don't think that's what's going on here.

I think what they're saying is this: if you take all the books that Amazon sells, and rank them in descending order with Amazon's best-seller first, and their worst-seller last, that Debbie Blabbermouth's book would come in at #55,000.

That could well mean that three copies were ordered over the weekend. It could even mean that one copy was ordered over the weekend, after going three or four days with zero copies ordered.

I think that the number actually means that at least 56,000 other books are selling better than this crap, and not that 56K copies have been sold on Amazon. Though fifty six thousand sold is possible, it is highly unlikely.
