Pray for our military (those currently serving) and for our veterans. Pray especially that the Senate does not approve the provision that robs our military retirees of 20% of their hard earned pensions. Dear God, please stop these men and women from doing this. In Christ name, we pray.

M240B - the new “Pig” that replaces the M60 - fires the same 7.62 round...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M240_machine_gun

The Dos/DSS started allowing us to have late 2006 to counter aggressors coming up on our rear — the M249 wasn’t cutting it and Mahdi knew it...once deployed — that stopped alot of jihad clowns from breaking the perimeter....

Sixty-nine years ago, his predecessors were piling into trucks en route to a road junction in the Ardennes named Bastogne...

Nope, the 240 has a larger, flatter body and the barrel handle is 90 degree angles. Also, the 240 is only a belt-fed weapon, whereas the 249 can use links or a magazine, as in the picture. The 240 almost always (at least the ones I’ve seen) has a solid stock.

But the easiest way to differentiate at first glance is the handle.

I wasn’t 100% sure. Looked too small for a M249, but it was the only platform that came to mind right away. Thank you for the clarification.

I thought that photo was taken IN Chicago. It’s a quagmire, y’know.

Notice the front sight ring is also different.

In the picture it appears they replaced the foregrip with a Picatinny rail and put one up top for scope mounting as well. The stock is different as well, but all in all, the receiver looks identical.

I would’ve made the same assumptions seeing those two pics, BCW, and I thank you for the spirited discussion.

I’ve should have notice the carrying grip...this is what happens when one removes themselves from these weapon systems and gets a bit older... :D
