Duck Dynasty Star Ducks Barbara Walters Interview--to Go Hunting

Many celebrities look forward to a Barbara Walters interview. Not so with Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson. He skipped the interview to go duck hunting.

Radar Online is reporting that Robertson bailed on Walter’s ‘Most Fascinating People’ interview last month for the ABC network.

Walters talked with other members of the Robertson family, and Phil’s wife, Miss Kay, reportedly told her that the 67-year old founder of Duck Commander would rather shoot ducks than do the interview.

Walters says on-air that she has, “never been superseded by a duck before.”

He didn’t show up for NFL training camp for the same reason - he chose hunting over NFL football. (this was before the really big bucks came to the NFL).

This aritcle makes it sound like it was only Phil, but not so. Jase bailed also.

But the family tells TheBlaze that there was “no disrespect intended.”

Family spokesman and the eldest Robertson, Alan, said some of the family was in New York
in November for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and to film Walters’ ”The 10 Most
Fascinating People of 2013,” among other things, but that Phil and Jase didn’t come on the trip.

“They simply didn’t want to miss three days of hunting to do everything we had planned,”
Alan wrote in an email to TheBlaze. “As a family, we were very honored to be recognized on the
[Walters] list and there was no disrespect intended by us.”

“When it comes to Dad and Jase, ducks trump just about anything from late November to
late January, it’s just the way they roll!”

Walters was on Imus this morning and he asked her if she had an affair with Fidel Castro while she spent that week with him. She was not amused. I laughed my ass off.

I’m no hunter or fisherman but know that great conditions for both don’t happen all of the time but TV shows do.
