A tourist in Australia had to be rescued by police after plunging off a pier while browsing Facebook on her phone, officials said Wednesday.
The woman was walking along a bay in Melbourne on Monday night when she became distracted by her Facebook feed and plummeted off the pier into the chilly water, Victoria state police said.

Now thatz funny
As bad as the idiots who follow gps and wonder why they drove off into a river.
Was her phone damaged?
“Was her phone damaged?”
The phone is OK. The user of the phone is still brain dead.
Where’s the Like button?
In the drink with the tourist.
Being its Australia shes lucky not to have
eaten by a Saltie or stung by one of those
Good thing she wasn`t on a mountan trail.
Or a shark.
Shark attack is way more likely, unless you have a saltwater crocodile escaping the aquarium in Melbourne. The salties inhabit the northern coasts of Australia; Melbourne is way to the south.
I think the Facebook crowd would be happy to crowd into the Matrix and stay there.
Things like this happen all the time. NBD
“The user of the phone is brain dead.”..........
No, she already had that affliction.
And her Facebook posting read “look gang I’ve made it to Melbourne and walking down the pier. I hear that it is beautiful and as soon as I finish posting I will look around to describe for ....... ah-ah-ah-ah-ah.............splash!”
Darwin at work ...attempting to clean out the gene pool.
I was shopping last week and there were three teens walking in the parking lot texting or whatever. One of them walked right into a light post.
The others kept on walking as he picked himself up off the pavement. I laughed loud enough for him to know I saw how stupid he looked.
