the photo is from Pulaski, NY mid 70s.....I was just there this summer....no snow in sight. LOL
Meth addicts? I am so glad you got your mother out of that house before they tried to rob it. Very lucky.
I do not heart winter.
I recall her at under two and screaming in the hospital because of this problem. It broke my heart to hear her wails of pain. I can’t imagine how bad she is this time round, bad enough they sent her off to a Rochester surgeon for definitive treatment. I haven’t heard anything back yet. It takes an hour and a half just to get there, then tests and doctor consults.....not expecting news till tonight.
Heart it? LOL You are one sick puppy.
do not heart......oh, misread that. LOL
Lol.
See my pic on the last page?
the comic? that was priceless.
Indeed. We had moved her to a very nice assisted living facility after she broke her leg at 98 in May 2012. She was quite unwilling to go, but her doctors, nurses, and an attorney prevailed upon her. We live 2000 miles away, so we just locked up her house and got power of attorney to pay all of her bills, etc. She was lucid enough, at the time, to sign all those papers.
We hired a neighbor to water her grass. Unfortunately, he died in the intervening year and the grass died, providing a major clue that the house was empty. The meth addicts came along and set up camp in the back yard. Eventually they broke into the house and started stealing what we had left behind to feed their habit. They also left quite a bit of their own mess. I thought that we had removed most of the valuables the year before, but they managed to pawn $1000 worth of goods. At the rates that pawn shops pay, that’s probably $5000 in replacement value.
In the mean time, we went out in August for her birthday, held an estate sale, and sold her house. She doesn’t have to worry about that house any more, and neither do I.
While we were out there, we hired a dumpster to help in cleaning out her house and homeless wanderers would come along and sleep in the dumpster every night. It was spooky. I’m glad that it is all over.
I have to say this is the only time of year I can smile at our weather and feel sorry for your temps.....May through October here I am totally jealous of your cooler weather!
That is an amazing picture! It reminds me of some old pics of Milwaukee where a lady is trying to cross a street downtown and the snow is above her head.
Now they use big machines around here to remove snow accumulations and take them to places where they can melt. I allow the village to use the extra parking lot at our plant for such a purpose since the employees don’t use it any more. They’ve been doing this for about 5 years and I’ve been know to grumble that “they could give us a break on our taxes for the favor”...
They called this week for permission, which my husband freely gave, and then he added “When you guys are filling pot holes around the village, do you think that you could fill a few in the parking lot that we do use?”
“Consider it done,” was the answer! Glory be! Life is looking up.
Tomorrow’s high here in ND will be negative 4.
Benn Diagram ?? 'Nothing against the guy ...
And I certainly don't hate Al Arbitrage -- I thought he was one of the best bench bosses of all time.
