The text size on Amazon prime is horrible.

You are not lying. It is horrible! And what is even worse is if you buy some movies and TV shows, you cannot make folders to keep them separated into categories….you have to go through the entire purchase titles to find the one you want. They definitely have some kinks to fix, but it is still nice to have.

Yeah, we kicked cable to the curb. Roku, Netflix and hulu. Having the computer hooked up via HDMI allows for free streaming of sports.

You must have a small TV? No problem reading the Prime text on our 55 inch TV.

Mine is 36 Flatscreen….I guess I will upgrade for sure at some point so I can read the Amazon easier….lol.

Roku 3 for streaming. It is easy to navigate.

I have Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and Netflix. I use Amazon mostly. The others should be cancelled.

I’ve looked through Netflix a couple of times but haven’t seen anything that I hadn’t already seen or never wanted to see. Besides, you can watch that on your computer.

Perhaps a dumb question but how do you keep from getting a virus on your Smart TV when you connect to the web?

I have had a Roku box for years and it allows you to access streaming movies, TV etc. from Netflix, Amazon and Hulu and a variety of other channels. Set up is easy..just one HDMi cable network and it connects to your home WiFi. Netflix and Huku require a monthly subscription for unlimited access. Amazon charges for rentals.

You don’t use Hulu plus for movies, I use it for tv shows.

See post #39. I watch all the Hbo Showtime etc stuff on them. Usually the next day. I usually wait and watch the whole season at once though. Game of Thrones, House of Cards, etc.
There is absolutely no reason to pay for anything anymore.

I wonder if you can get subtitled foreign programming on your TV like through DramaFever and Viki?

Get a Chromecast for $35, and you can stream Viki to your TV.

Chromecast, when they get more apps for it, will blow Apple TV out of the water. For the price of 1 Apple TV, I can get 3 Chromecasts.

That is awesome. BTW, a lot of DramaFever shows are shared with Hulu (even on the free side)

ChromeCast also will do HuluPlus along with Netflix.

It’s great using a smart phone as a remote, and since the content is downloaded directly to the Chromecast, it won’t drain the battery on the cell phone.

Another cool thing it can do is cast your videos and photos if you have them on Dropbox or Picasa.

Another thing that would be cool, is if you have a Google Docs Presentation in your Google Drive, you can cast it to a TV and give a Presentation. You can do it now from a laptop, but I hope soon they’ll let you do it from your phone, that would be cool, because it’s so easy to use.
