For the Chuck Norris clip, they had the planes try to move together.

Actually one of the planes engines failed and he is holding it up with his foot.

The clip is being played in reverse. I’d imagine that initially the trucks weren’t moving, but were at the appropriate distance from each other for Van Damme to take his splitz position, then the moved slowly together, allowing him to stand.

The trucks are driving in reverse. It helps make the point of the dynamic steering control.

Ok. I get the gag.

I just don't understand why Chuck's planes aren't going backwards as well. </sarc>

I'd be more impressed with a 'Grudge Match' between the two in a cage; no pulls/no rules, last man standing.

“The clip is being played in reverse...”

I think you nailed it. Very impressive, nonetheless.

The trucks were in reverse in the Van Damme commercial. If he had fallen, they wouldn't run him over in reverse.

Also, only the left hand truck moves.

Those trucks are impressive too. There's video of him getting to drive one and he says it steers just like a car. They are beautiful vehicles.

I also read that there were safety precautions that were edited out. The article didn't state what they were.

I don’t understand why Chuck’s hair and the bottom of his shirt looks like it’s in a 15mph breeze.

Trusting that the camera platform wouldn’t interfere with the C-5A aerodynamics (enough to throw Chuck for a loop, anyway) while flying above the 110+kt stall speed is pretty amazing. I’m very curious as to what that platform was.

The aircrafts’ AoA and the cloud movement rearward suggests they’re well into their cruise speed range, over 160kts. Hmmm. He’d really have to have strong magnets in his shoes working for him to keep from simply being blown off the wing, but even that wouldn’t help much given composite wingtips.

Much as I love Chuck’s work, I vote for green screen trickery.
