“Houston Mayor Annise Parker calls Phil Robertson a ‘redneck wingnut’ whose views are ‘completely irrelevant’”
Funny her feeling the need to comment if Phil and his views are totally irrelevant. Sounds like someone is jealous of the attention Phil is receiving.
at least she admits she’s been on the wrong side of this for 40+ years. wears her wrongness as a badge of honor, she’s that much of a jackwagon.
And she’s an unconstitutional b-yotch who has violated the oath of office by ushering in taxpayer funding of same sex couples’ partners who are NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE as being legally married.
Phil describes himself as a Redneck and White Trash.
The fact that he has a Masters Degree eludes the Left, just as when they found out President Bush had a Masters Degree and had better College Grades than Al Gore and John Kerry.
Facts are irrelevant to a Liberal.
I guess only Whites can call each other Rednecks the same way only Blacks can call each other Ni@@er, right?
Houston’s last city election had several open Communists on the ballot. This mayor was funded by homosexual activists nationwide. And the city only elects Democrats to the position.
Our next mayor (she’s now term limited out) may be the gay George Greanias. He was busted on city time using city equipment to cruise for rent boys. This mayor excused his behavior.
They sometimes are but then it is a "bad" thing.
Liberal Democrats in the $300,000 a home Heights re-elect Shelia Jackson Lee as their Congressoysterperson. You tell me how this happens.
She will run for governor/higher office as Chris Bell and Bill White did (and failed in doing so).
Does the City of Houston have a Recall Provision in the city charter so that she can be recalled by the voters?
She also pledged that she would NOT use her office to advance the homosexual agenda (a lie).
Sadly, she’s right. What Christians say and believe is irrelevant. Otherwise she would never have been elected.
I have many customers in NYC, SF, Boston and Chicago whom I assume have similar living arrangements, but none of them have been so interested in making them a topic of conversation as this Dallas local was.
Parker responded. Ive been a gay community activist since the mid-70s
In that case you are the nut and the one that has no relevance!
Yep. There is a lot of out and out homosexual-ism in Dallas, TX. The rest of the Metroplex not so much but Dallas, yeah. Worked with many, male and female, and while some were decent folk others were walking billboards for miscreant sexual behavior.
Let me put it this way. I know who Phil Robertson is. I have no idea who Anise Parker is......
It shows up on her twitter account. Apparently she said it in passing to "Lone Star Q" LGBT blogger John Wright, during a telephone interview. He blogged about it but hasn't published the full text of the phone interview.
Her choice of words was wrong, offensive, and unfortunate. It sounds like she wasn't sure if she was going to brush the whole controversy aside, or use it to shore up her image in the gay community, or try to crush Robertson.
If Parker had been more measured and polite, though, she might be getting the same kind of responses, based not on her language but just on her (inevitably) taking the "gay" side in the controversy.
I’ve met her, at an event where also was the esteemed Sheila Jackson Lee. You could cut the stupid with a knife. Nothing but air between their ears.
Because Texas is conservative, and the opposite of those states.
And God calls Phil his son - one who isn’t ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Who’s verbiage would you rather have?
The election process for Mayor of Houston is structured to insure the election of a Democrat. It is scheduled for an off election year so there are no national elections occurring at the same time. It is deemed non-partisan so that on election day, when other significant positions and ballot initiatives are decided, there are multiple candidates to insure that no single candidate gets over 50%. This means there will be an run off election a month later.
All of this combines to insure that when the deciding vote actually occurs, the handpicked candidate of the state democrat party is the only one with resources sufficient to see the whole process through. The state democrat party will commit whatever resources are necessary to insure their candidate wins since this is perhaps the most significant elected position they can win in the state anymore.
In the larger picture though, the position of Houston mayor has dwindled in significance every year and really gains the Democrats very little other than locally.
Actually the political significance of the Houston mayor has shrunk quite a bit over the years. The real power in the area is wielded at the county level and that is controlled by the Republicans.
It is truly a shame that Houston has elected DEMOCRAT Mayors for the last I do not know how many years.
Fat Dike, Annice Porker being the current office holder.
Houston has off-year elections and the turnout is miserable. This past November I think we had about 250,000 people vote in the Houston elections. This is totally insane and shameful.
Lets have Michael Berry add his two cents worth. If nothing else I will get a chuckle
It’s Houston. Like Austin the city is full of libs. Lots around Dallas too.
Yep...guns vs. pajama clad, hot chocolate drinkers.
Actually the political significance and power of the Houston mayoral position has shrunk so much that the politics of the holder is no big deal. Power is wielded at the country level and that is solidly conservative. The massive growth in the local economy stays just outside of the Houston city limits in places like the Woodlands, Humble, Kingwood, Katy and Pearland so that the city of Houston loses more control as the economy grows.
The last two Houston mayors, Bill White and Anise Parker, have been visible but politically insignificant. That's why Bill White got his butt spanked when he tried to run for a statewide office.
That’s a man, man!
Who cares what Anus Parker has to say.
That’s a compliment or badge of honor from her!
How did Houston get a mayor named after a candy?
Dallas County had a lesbian sheriff so anything is possible in big city lala lands
“Let me put it this way. I DIG Phil Robertson . I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT who Anise Parker is......” ——there fixed it!!
I rip Houston, Austin and Dallas all the time. Ever seen a red/blue election map? It’s easy to locate those lib strongholds. Austin has the tree huggers and illegals, Dallas has the CA imports/wannabes, and Houston has the obamaphone crowd who have no idea who they’re voting for. Good grief, they keep voting in Her Highness Senator Sheila Don’t-YouKnow-who-I-Am Jackson-Lee who went on a rant about not having any black colleges in TX when all she had to do was to look out her window to see two of the 5 or so in TX. Prairie View A&M was founded in 1800-something but she is clueless. Ha, get a load of this conservative white guy they elected because they couldn’t be bothered to look at his picture to see he wasn’t a black guy.
“Wilson says. “No, I didn’t expect to win.”
Still, he figured he’d have fun running, because he was fed up with what he called “all the shenanigans” at the Houston Community College System. As a conservative white Republican running in a district whose voters are overwhelmingly black Democrats, the odds seemed overwhelmingly against him.
Then he came up with an idea, an advertising strategy that his opponent found “disgusting.” If a white guy didn’t have a chance in a mostly African-American district, Wilson would lead voters to think he’s black.
And it apparently worked. In one of the biggest political upsets in Houston politics this election season, Wilson — an anti-gay activist and former fringe candidate for mayor — emerged as the surprise winner over 24-year incumbent”
LOL - nutwing... that's a good one.
From what I have heard from the syndicated, smart phone app’d radio broadcast of “The Walton and Johnson Show”, this not-too-long-ago-elected-queer-queen-mayor-of-Houston, ain’t nothin’ to write home about.
Once again, a queer is attempting to instruct others what they should think.
Looks like Phil inadvertently drew a line in the sand.
Battle lines are slowly being drawn for the future civil war....the left will lose badly...
No they wont. You are dreaming and sound like one of the boys in Gone in the Winds saying that the war will be wrapped up in a few weeks. Massive death and destruction will occur and the left will prevail.
It was big news that the new mayor of Dallas is a lesbian. What are the roots of the word lesbian?
That “been together since” is a new thing for gay marriage. Guess to prove how hotly they’ve been waiting.
Isle of lesbos Greece. Where the women were women and so were the men.
Annise Parker... Carpetmunching Abomination.
A foul Cankles Clinton clone. What is wrong with Texas?
Um ... Parker is a flaming lesion with a long - term “partner” that makes my golden doodle look like a swimsuit model. Would we expect anything different from her? Her comments aren’t worth more than a brief look and a chuckle.
‘No they wont. You are dreaming and sound like one of the boys in Gone in the Winds saying that the war will be wrapped up in a few weeks. Massive death and destruction will occur and the left will prevail.’
Of course....The French Resistance was a failure...the Russians are still in Afghanistan....
Battle lines ARE being drawn(they just will not be seen nor will we who fight back be seen) , the left will be bled by a thousand cuts and will ultimately lose.
