The Governor had an unsuccessful attempt on the prison and then had a much more successful attempt on the prison. That was the plan, to keep The Governor around for a little bit longer and show that the prison is able to withstand some kind of attack to show that it's a good place to live. But also to show that The Governor is still out there and he's not going to give up on this. We felt it was important for the life of the show to depict how dangerous things can get and how much of a threat The Governor actually poses and to give that story enough room to breathe. .
I heard the [complaint] that there was a bit of stalling at the start of season four, but people aren't really recognizing all of the character work that is going to pay off quite a bit in the back half of season four. It's an unfortunate thing because our seasons are split the way they are, people will often judge the first half of the season as one piece when it really is just half of the story.....
The group has lost the prison. Where do they go from here?
It goes into a lot of interesting and new places, which is something The Walking Dead is always striving to do. The prison has fallen, there won't be any more stories there, and now our characters are out on their own. They've lost the prison, they've lost where they live and where they were building their lives, and they're also separated and have lost each other. They're out in the unknown trying to survive. We're going to be going into some very interesting places with all of these characters and seeing new sides to all of them as they figure out how to survive. Been a while since these people have been out on the road and out in the open; they're very different people at this point.
The events in the upcoming episodes are going to change them that much more, which I think will make the show a lot cooler, more dangerous and more exciting.......more at site...

Frank Darabount (sp) said he hasn’t seen one dollar from the show is going to sue. Typical Hollywood frauds. They cook the books and never want to pay up. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Frank’s not in that group, too.

I’m hoping to see the return of Carol. Didn’t much care for her initially because she was so weak, but she’s developed into one of my favorite characters.
And it’s so nice that they’re going to be out of the prison and back into the world. The prison location seemed to make the show somehow smaller, when in reality they should be trying to seek out other non-zombie people and maybe finding a larger place to homestead and start rebuilding some semblance of civilization. Maybe even look for an island or peninsula or other easily guarded spot with plenty of acreage for homes/shelters and farm land. I mean, Georgia isn’t too far from the Gulf and it borders on the Atlantic so they could head for a port and get some boats and see about some fine Caribbean living since walkers don’t swim.
Granted, I haven’t read the comic books so I have no idea where the story line is headed but that’s what I’d probably do if I were in their situation.
Great minds think alike...I too look for Carol’s return. Also the island idea is good. Concerning the comics, I read the first 6 and didn’t get much out of it...too dark.
The prison had farm land, water, shelter and safety. If the zombies were deteriorating (and there wasn’t someone feeding them to lure them in), then they could have waited there until the initial critical mass of zombies disintegrated. Make rare forays out for critical supplies but try to survive it as a siege. Maybe in another year or two, most of the initial zombies are gone, with only 20% left. Now foraging becomes easier and safer.
Finding other people doesn’t help them much if they have to struggle to feed who they have.
Thank goodness the Governor is gone and the cast members can get back to tackling zombies.
And by the way, Maggie is one of the hottest women on Planet Earth; and so she was, even before the world’s other women turned into zombies.

Head North where it freezes in the winter...
A deep cold freeze on zombie tissue should destroy it, or freeze them solid so that Daryl in a parka could get a sledge hammer and go zombie head smashing...

I’m looking forward to the next season looking more like the first season with surprises on the road and etc. in every episode instead of the sort of monotonous prison story arc.
It’d be nice to see them visit Fort Benning or Fort Stewart to see what they can find for arms and maybe freeze dried food (I forget what those military dinners are called). I have to say it’d be nice to see the gang with a minigun if they could find one!
It might have been in the World War Z book where that idea was explored - but if I remember right, the zombies just walked across the ocean floor and climbed/shuffled up anchor lines.
Water’s not actually a good barrier to zombies. Sure they can’t swim, but they also don’t have to breath. They can just walk, currents and mud might mess them up but they’ll show up eventually.
They were working on finding new people slowly but surely. The problem with new people of course is that some are bad and some are good, approach the wrong kind of group and everything you built is ruined. Better to build your security and trust slowly and reluctantly.
Islands don’t work. The dead do not breath. Remember the guy chained in the lake? Still was a walker. You’d have to constantly scout the coast for walkers emerging from the sea.
You don't know that for sure but it's a given they don't float.
I have insider info that the group does eventually end up on an island within the states on a large lake and are eventually overrun by walkers who instead of swimming, were able to walk along the bottom of the lake and surface along the shoreline surrounding the island then proceed to attack the survivors on the island.....
The North = Cold, snow, rain, no electricity, no gas, no heat, no fun.......(I live here so I know and I've got both electricity, gas and heat.) Yea, I know, that's three....LOL!
