A group of 49ers fans who raised money for a billboard in Seattle to brag about their team's five Super Bowl trophies got their sign - but it's nowhere near CenturyLink Field.
The digital billboard is just north of Fife, about 27 miles from downtown Seattle. Niners fans raised money through the fundraising site gofundme.com. They raised more than the $7,000 needed to pay for the billboard so the rest will go to charity. A Seahawks fan wants to do the same thing in San Francisco, but to promote Seattle Children's hospital and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
On Sunday, a Facebook event invited the 12th man to photo bomb the billboard on Dec. 28.
"The 49ers thought they would out do us by putting up a billboard near our stadium.. epic fail since it isn't even in the same county!!! Let's get together and show them a billboard doesn't scare off the 12th Man and have a photo bomb of the billboard. You know how we do!!" the page says.
Not a good move.. The last thing the Hawks need is to be tweaked .. Or beat at home.
Go Falcons (from a ol ‘Vike fan living a few miles from the new new new Levi’s stadium.) !!!
WA state ping.
I’m hoping the Cardinals get into the playoffs.
Ping to 5
This electronic bill board site has been controversial as it violates WA state signage law. But it’s on Puyallup tribal land so is sacred......
Broncos fan here but still like the Niners. Go Niners.
A fool ( fools) and his (their) money are soon parted.
All I want is to see Gisele cry.. And Tom too.
My Vikes nuked out early..
Uhhhh.. Oh wait.. Been there done that
Maybe New England v. 9ers or Panthers
Stock up on munchies.
I’m looking for a loophole that will let me join a tribe and start ignoring regulations I don’t like.
in Fife, Scotland ?
Its also a good example of why I'm more interested in baseball these days.
Near Fife? Check point chickee...
Joe Fitzgibbon, D-Burien, is a state Representative from Washington State. Last night, he was upset about the Seahawks loss to the Arizona Cardinals, so he posted a tweet calling Arizona a desert racist wasteland.
When news of his nasty liberal attitude came out he deleted the tweet, but it had already been captured...
If you go to a 49ers home game, don’t ask the fan next to you to hold your seat....
Big news it actually has grown some legs.
I find it very distracting, and would wager that someday will cause a serious accident.
Good. I hope it makes his famous.
that billboard has been there for years announcing upcoming acts at the Emerald Queen or Muckleshoot casinos..
and that stretch of I5 doesn’t require a garish sign to cause accidents. Fife is not a prestige address the way Medina or Queen Anne are.
Nip it! Nip. IT!
But they are good at rearing children.
I’ve lived in or near SF my entire lifetime and 49er fans are the most obnoxious and arrogant front-runners in the world.
Most were Raider fans prior to 1981
BTW, they last won a SB in 1994 - talking up the 5 SB’s is a bit dated and makes them look desperate. Which they are.
Their home and road won/loss record also shows they can’t win a road playoff game. They’ll be one and done if they have to travel.
Not to mention former owner Eddie D is a big crook.
The point it magnifies is the Obama legacy of being able to accuse everyone who disagrees with you of being a racist. Joe Fitzgibbon looks like a young man, but he already has that liberal mean streak ingrained in him. So, even if the people of Arizona make a studied decision to protect the economic balance in their state and control their ability to sustain support services, to the representative elected by the folks in Burien they are racists.
By extension, I am assuming most of the people in Burien feel the same way.
