Yeah, some real interesting characters, but I’m amazed they don’t wear hardhats in rockslide zones.

No - and it ticks me off that when I am trying to find out about the actual weather, they have all these shows on that belong on another channel where they can pontificate about AGW and other baloney.

“Wondering if anyone has followed the series called, “Prospectors” “

I’ve been following Amanda.

Yup, remember way back when you could catch "local on the 8's" radar 24/7.

No reason to watch anymore.
Too many good radar/satellite sites on the Internet now.

I guarantee that the first politician who sees this show proposes a law to cover hard hats.

It’s not just that . . . when they did put “local” weather on, I got the current temps in NYC, DC, etc. Not very useful info for me in Chicago.

I’m amused how television channels with formerly very descriptive names (i.e. The Weather Channel, MTV, CNN) have turned to completely unrelated content to bolster ratings and advertising incomes.

And people wonder why I don’t have cable.

I did a bunch of work around a mine.

Inside, underground, a hardhat is an absolute necessity.

Outside, not so much, of course depends on the specific conditions.

Yeh, in principle I hate reality TV . . but find myself rooting for Amanda and some of the real characters on the show. (unlike Todd Hoffman who I hope falls in a mudhole and gets swallowed by an anacond awhile he’s chewing out someone for not getting 100 ounces of gold in a bug-infested jungle!)

Here's a reason to start watching again:

Kait Parker joins the Weather Channel

Kait Parker:

TWC also still has Jen Carfagno if you know when to catch her.

It was great when it first began down here, during the summer especially.

I live pretty close to the gulf and in the summer you could have a thunderstorm or thunderstorm complex pop up pretty quick.
Just turn on the TV and in a few minutes you would get the radar picture of what's fixing to happen in an hour or so.

Now it's just easier and quicker to turn on the computer and go to Intellicast or one of the local TV station radars.

Plus it pissed me off when they fired that little gal that flew with the hurricane hunters as part of her AF reserve duties.
Think that happened not too long after NBC bought them out and they started going downhill big time with global warming BS.

Not only that, the weather channel folks are hardcore algorite warmers. And wrong 99% of the time. But the radar don’t lie. (Sorry if I offended any meteorologists on here)

I agree about the recent past (and current) direction of TWC. They should have done a spinoff channel if they wanted to get in that racket.

It does bode well for maybe an AccuWeather channel in the future though? I actually hope not as I’m not a big fan of Joel Myers, but that’s another story for another day.

Yes WC was purchased by NBC and folded into their propaganda wing.

Their “news” cut-ins are from MSNBC.

Prospectors cause global warming coz they remove the crystal energy balance of the mountains which keep the sky from falling.

I was fascinated with the relationship with Amanda and her digging partner. She seems to have been hurt in the past and he simply was there for her with patience until she realized she had feelings for him. It didn’t appear to be to be “put on”.
