I'd not heard of them being made illegal. AES Ham sells the original Avanti Super Penetrator in their catalog so I don't believe metal ground plane antenna's are illegal.Well that's a relief - I just don't see how a fiberglass whip style would work as well (which seems to be what they are peddling for base stations nowadays).
Thanks for the chat - you got my blood up for it. I just called the guy and laid word on that bundle.

Actually Ham radio operators also have EchoLink... PFFFFTTTT!!! EchoLink isn't real radio. Unless it's your rig putting rf into your antenna what's the bloody point?
