Groomers are dazzling up dogs with bling, bows [w/video]

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Sugarplum went into the salon as a reddish-blonde dachshund mix and came out with pink and green ears, a rainbow tail and a bow in her fur.

"It's like having a little unicorn creature," said Sasha Sinnott, an attorney from Pasadena who was nearly giddy about her dog's makeover.

For some dog owners, simple bathing and combing is not enough. So they pay groomers to turn fur into an artist's canvas, where vibrant sweeps of chalk and paint transform pooches into fantasy fur balls that draw both compliments and strange looks. For an extra 10 or 15 minutes at the groomer, the everyday dog can get an outlandish redesign with a temporary paint tattoo, Mohawk, feather extension or glued-on jewels.

I'm sure that neutering is quite painful too, but I've never seen anyone objecting to it (which doesn't mean that no one has).

You obviously did not read the post from a few days ago about the bloke who went mad and shot some medical personnel in Reno because they kept ignoring his pains after his vasectomy and kept telling him that his 'discomfort' would subside.

I wince simply imagining the pain he must have been suffering as a result of a procedure in that very sensitive area, let alone one that had gone terribly bad and the medical crew decided to simply ignore it.

Not true. I caught one of my dogs doing that to the cat. A couple more years they can probably have their own wedding float in the parade.

LOL!

My mother had a small white male dog (neutered) that would return from the dog groomer’s in a very sour mood. He would be all primped and pretty but couldn’t stand the smell of all that scented stuff. He would lie by the screen door, his nose pressed against the mesh.

Normally I abhor costumes on dogs - but those (meaning post 23 as well) are cute, funny & creative. Thanks for posting them!
