A Saudi family which suffered from persistent hallucinations, fear and psychological problems for nearly eight months discovered that it was under a magic spell cast by their housemaid just before she left for her home country.
The man and his wife were looking for a lost item in the maid’s room when they stumbled across a talisman and other magic items hidden by the maid before she left the house in the northern Saudi town of Tabuk.
Sabq newspaper said the man took the magic items to the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
“Commission specialists worked on the talisman until they managed to neutralize its effects,” the paper said, quoting Commission spokesman Sheikh Mohammed Al Zubaidi. “The family said they felt much better after the spell is destroyed.”
