TV’s famed “Bill Nye the Science Guy” will argue the case against creation and for evolution as he faces the founder and president of the Creation Museum, Ken Ham, on February 4, 2014, in the museum’s 900-seat Legacy Hall. The museum, which has drawn two million guests in six years (including 20,000 visitors at its recent Christmas Town programs), is located in Petersburg, Kentucky (near the Cincinnati Airport).

NOTE:

The agreed-upon topic for the February 4, 2014, 7 PM debate is “Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern scientific era?”

Were all the qualified scientists busy?

"Ham also noted, “If his travel schedule permits that day, Mr. Nye will be my guest at the museum. I would personally show him through our museum before the debate."

I bet that Mr. Nye refuses to see the Creation Muesuem, but if he does he will see the Truth on display at the Creation Muesuem and may change his tune and stop corrupting our children.

If people like Bill Nye actually represented the “scientific spirit,” we would still be living in caves. He is a dogmatist, a mediocrity, not a scientist.

Bill Nye is no more qualified to present on any scientific topic than he is graceful ballroom dancer.

The whole “Science Guy” thing was a comedy sketch Nye was doing while working a comedian in Seattle. He has no scientific background. He has a degree as an engineer, but nothing relating to the hard sciences.

His being touted as a scientific expert on any topic is pure fraud.

So, some folks think that only a PhD “scientist” with sheepskins from some crusty “educational” organization are the only ones qualified to know the truth?

Gosh, a few more of us can read! So we can think for ourselves too!

Note: not defending the humanist religion of evolution etc etc, rather stating that the logic you are proposing works both ways!

But Nye presents himself as a “Scientific Expert.” That implies education and experience in scientific matters. Doing comedy sketches doesn’t quite qualify him as an expert.

If you're happy with allowing the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson to represent people of faith, I'll be happy with having Bill Nye "The Science Guy" represent scientists.

This isn't about credentials. It's about the fact that on occasion after occasion, in front of audiences large and small, Bill Nye has betrayed a staggering ignorance of science.
