We found her in a ditch beside the road, no idea where she came from.

Our Ragdoll, Stella, ONLY sleeps with me in the winter. The rest of the year she may sleep at the foot of my side of the bed, but only in the winter does she curl up against my side. She is quite the little heater.

Our Rottweiler hogs the bed every night. And circulates between two couches all day. Same with the cat.

My inside cat positioned himself to run between my legs just as I opened the door and bolt out. He really had a lead on me until he hit the snow. He came to a dead stop in about 1 gallop and was scooped up and locked in his cat room as punishment. Some punishment. The radiator is 110 degrees, he has an automatic feeder and auto cat box, a carpet tree and a heating pad on his double bed.

This story reminds me of my mother in law. She let hubbys beloved best friend out in a blizzard. The little dog was arthritic and very old. M-I-L forgot. The next morning hubby and his dad pried poor doggy up from the sidewalk. :( Hubby was 11 or soThat is horrible..how could you forget something like that??
It DID remind me of something from when my dog was a puppy. We never leave her outside without checking on her every few minutes. I once let her outside, and was going to the door checking on her...she was just laying down in some snow on the sidewalk looking around the last several times I opened the door to see if she wanted to come in.
I couldn't figure out why she was staying out as it was quite cold...she wasn't barking...just sitting there probably 20' from the front door. I finally decided that she had been out long enough, so I put some boots on and went to get her. Mystery solved: she had managed to sit in one spot long enough that the snow had melted and refrozen...she was partially "frozen" to the sidewalk!
She wasn't terribly stuck, and was fine once we got her up...she certainly appeared to be really confused. To this day, she "rolls" in the snow...but will not so much as "sit" in it. Well, she does "sit" with her little tush hovering about 2" above the ground...she looks like a dork!

Or one at/on your feet all night while the other sneaks up and sleeps on top of your head!! LOL Our Bevo (passed away last June) was notorious for waiting til I fell asleep and would crawl up and cuddle the very top of my head. Gosh I miss him so bad sometimes.

My two cats are indoor only. And when it’s this nasty outside they don’t even want to look out the window.

So, what did dogs, cats, and bunnies do before there were humans to take care of them?

If you look at the first picture, there appears to be an extra layer of loose skin around the hind legs below the stomach. Plus the coat. I think it is part Mau.
