Two members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors have introduced a proposal to add the image of a cross in the county's official seal -- a move likely to reignite a contentious debate that sparked a multi-year legal challenge nearly a decade ago. Supervisors Michael Antonovich and Don Knabe filed a motion Tuesday to add a cross to the depiction of historic San Gabriel Mission on the emblem that appears on county property, The Los Angeles Times reported.

The seal once featured a tiny gold cross above an image of the Hollywood Bowl. The cross was justified as a historic reference to the area's settlement by Spanish missionaries in the 1700s

The hate filled, anti Christian bigots will come out of the shadows and sewers to scream about this but remember that they achieve most of their goals through intimidation and threats. Stand tall against them and get this done. Finally, common sense from California.

Yet the bigots wouldn’t have a problem with a joint on the seal.

With all the Hispanic’s (Catholic’s) in that area, one would think there would be lots of support for the proposal.

Personally, I would like to see it pass. Time to shove back.

The county supervisors are legally astute in their resolution to state that replacing the cross on the county seal would be historically more accurate. That is a basis upon which a court could uphold their resolution. (Just for fun now: there is a tuna fish on the county seal. So far we haven’t heard of anyone wanting to tell “Charlie” to get lost. Same for the cow on the seal as a possibly holy cow to Hindus ?). Anyway the cross could be legally restored to the seal as a matter of history. ( not religion of course ).

The CROSS has been a thing of hatred by the enemies of Christ for the last 2000 years.

Mankind crucified the Lord Jesus on the cross, and every time the unbeliever sees a Cross it is a reminder of that day.

1Cr 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Phl 3:18

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ,

Phl 3:19

Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

You mean the same hispanics whose ancestors and relatives come here illegally? Yeah, there’s nothing more Christian than breaking laws..

Guess they’d better change the name too: “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula”

Our Lady, Queen of the Angels of the River (that was later the LA River)

Dennis Prager supporting the Cross bump.

You know, folks, the absence of things in a seal say things as well as does the presence of things. If we want to force everyone into being godless, then forbid the depiction of anything having to do with God. This generation and generations past who have expunged the Son of God and His loving sacrifice for us from their official symbols will stand before the judgement seat of God one day and give account for how ungrateful and ashamed of Him that they have been!
