Tiger Mom: Some cultural groups are superior
NY Post ^ | January 4, 2014 | Maureen Callahan

She’s doubling down. Amy Chua, the self-proclaimed “Tiger Mom” who, in 2011, published a book arguing that Chinese women are superior mothers — thus their offspring superior children — has even more to say. In “The Triple Package,” Chua and her husband, co-author Jed Rubenfeld, gather some specious stats and anecdotal evidence to argue that some groups are just superior to others and everyone else is contributing to the downfall of America.

The premise is definitely captain obvious and it applies to anyone regardless of race, religion etc. I like how she calls out the fact that cultural and religious groups that encourage these behaviors are more successful, this is the non-PC part and it is 100% correct!

Black Americans prove this premise in their total failure as a group completely dependent on government handouts, corporate and educational diversity free rides.

The few blacks that are successful have to fight against the tide of complete and utter failure of almost everyone they are related to or are friends with. The fact that a few can rise above this is nothing short of a miracle. It saddens me to see blacks enslaved in this way and treated like children by the very people they constantly vote into office.

RE: Some cultural groups are superior

Some cultures value the commandment — LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, some prefer to EAT THEIR NEIGHBORS. Are we to believe that one is not superior to the other?
******************************************************************
And SOME cultures feed their neighbor (or Uncle) to starving, ravenous dogs.

I work with kids, some Asian, and I have seen much in Asian parenting that borders on child abuse.

My Father who is Chinese, and who loved me, did not believe in the BS ideology of parent as “friend”. He would have been put in jail today for some of the corrective action he took to keep me on the straight and narrow. I thank him for that as a productive, law abiding citizen, with good moral judgement and a high educational achievement.

Note that she said “culture”’ not “race”.

The Obama culture is based on lies, fakery, Nike shoes, and failure.

That can change, but it will have to come from within.

And it will certainly not come from the dork himself.

Being married to a Chinese woman, she believes that an education is a sure way to invest in yourself. And she is a hard core Conservative and loves this country... She calls Obama Chairman Mao....

“Voice inflection and emphasis is part of the linguistic structure of the Chinese dialects and other Asian languages. What sounds like anger and rudeness to the western ear is SOP in the Chinese community where the same sound has a different meaning depending upon how it is pronounced.”

I have also noticed that the Chinese seem to converse by talking all at once, as apposed to one at a time. This conversation style is also applied to their English-speaking conversations, and completely befuddles the English (first-language) speakers. Q: Have Chinese developed a parallel-communication conversational language, or are they simply not listening to each other?

So true, and some cultures value suicide bombings over life, and honor family members who actually blow themselves up.

Chua and Rubenfeld?

What do you get when you have a traditional Chinese and a traditional Jew as parents?

She can always move to China if she wants to be with her own kind.
Since it’s so wonderful and all.

HEAVENS NO!!! Then she would have to put up or shut up.

HERE she can whine her heart out without having to DO anything.

I have an ex-friend who hates San Francisco but won't move back to North Dakota because it's too cold AND she has 1001 excuses why she can't afford to leave and move to a warmer climate. She's the same as this Chinese woman whiner...MUCH easier to whine and whine and whine than DO anything to change.

We all KNOW that she won't be happy ANYWHERE she is. The glass is ALWAYS half empty.

So, how are her kids turning out since she wrote the book?

Tiger Moms: when you enter a bookstore, try not to scream at your kids, the booksellers and people in your way. This is not China and your big mouths and undecipherable accents are unappreciated. There's more to civilization and success than hitting the books.

Well, I guess you have encountered the Chinese mother. Isn't she SWEET??

All people who carry their own weight are superior to those who don't.
That goes across all demographics.

Amen.

RE: She can always move to China if she wants to be with her own kind.

I found her background quite interesting:

From Wikipedia:

Chua was born in Champaign, Illinois. Her parents were ethnic Chinese from the Philippines who emigrated to the United States. She has Hoklo ancestry and was raised in a Hokkien-speaking, not a Mandarin Chinese-speaking household. Her ancestors (including her grandparents and her mother) were born in Southern China’s Fujian province.

Amy’s father, Leon O. Chua, is an Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and is known as a leading authority on nonlinear circuit theory and cellular neural networks, and as the discoverer of the memristor.

Chua’s mother was born in China in 1936, before relocating to the Philippines at the age of 2.

She subsequently converted to Catholicism in high school and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, with a degree in chemical engineering, magna cum laude.

She was raised as a Roman Catholic and lived in West Lafayette, Indiana.

When she was eight years old, her family moved to Berkeley, California. Chua went to El Cerrito High School and graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College in 1984. She obtained her J.D. cum laude in 1987 from Harvard Law School, where she was an Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Chua lives in New Haven, Connecticut and is married to Yale Law School professor Jed Rubenfeld. She has two daughters, Sophia and Louisa (”Lulu”).

Chua, whose husband is Jewish, has stated that her children can speak Chinese, and they have been “raised Jewish”.

She is the eldest of four sisters: Michelle, Katrin, and Cynthia. Katrin is a physician and a professor at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Cynthia, who has Down Syndrome, holds two International Special Olympics gold medals in swimming.

Her own kind exist RIGHT HERE in the USA ( albeit in the minority)

Either a best selling author or a HUGE bomb-stinker.

I have had a problem with Chinese women ever since my days travelling in Lower Manhattan (Chinatown). The crudest individuals I have ever met. And some of the worst, most dishonest storekeepers going.

Ah, you read about that. Appalling. Satan must have been HARD at work on that one.

Funny, I’ve heard that said of Jewish merchants as well...

I worked with some ladies from the American Virgin Islands, many years ago. They were from a well to do family. Well mannered, stunningly attractive, and entrancing accents.

I really don’t care what their parallel communication system is. I just want them to shut up, stop pushing and cheating people who want to buy a Peking Duck on Canal Street. Oh, and occasionally cleaning the toilets in restaurants in Chinatown. It’s America, not China.
