Mary Kay Letourneau, the former teacher convicted of having sex with a 12-year-old student whom she later married, has been jailed again in Seattle in a suspended license case, reports CBS affiliate KIRO TV.
Letourneau was booked into King County Jail early Monday for allegedly failing to appear in court after being accused of driving on a suspended license. She was expected to post a $5,000 bond, reports the station. She was reportedly arrested around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Letourneau became infamous after she was arrested in 1997 and accused of having sex with her former sixth-grade student, Vili Fualaau. Letourneau pleaded guilty in exchange for a 3-month jail sentence and probation, reports the station. Then 34, she had given birth to Fualaau's child.
After being released, authorities discovered Letourneau and Fualaau together in 1998, a violation of Letourneaus parole. She again became pregnant with Fualaaus child. Following the violation, she was sentenced by a judge to 7-and-a-half years in prison.
After her release, Fualaau and Letourneau were married in 2005, when she was 43 and Fualaau was 22.
Laz would still hit it!
Just wait. The left’s next “civil rights cause of our time” will be to lower the age of consent.
He looks like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite after a year in for grand larceny.
He never got the chance to shop around, a stage most men go through. Too late now. He’s locked in.
I was told by LeTourneau’s brother-in-law that she is bi-polar. Has been for decades.
But the media, AFAIK, have never mentioned this. The whole story is much more titillating if that fact is omitted.
And it makes much better fodder for the talk shows if that fact was suppressed, so people could rant and rave about “what is happening to our society!?!?!?!”
That bipolar story makes sense of all this now.

She's 48, he's 26
There are a few other awkward moments, like the deafening silence from Mr. and Mrs. Fulauu when asked what they have in common.
He’s got “The Rock” eyebrow thing down pat.
She needs to move to California. They don’t have room in the jails for people with suspended licenses.
Actually I knew about it. I don’t know the family personally but read that she went off her prescribed drugs and attempted to treat herself with St. John’s Wort. So beware if you are bi-polar a d thinking of doing that.
A tabloid TV show did pay for their wedding at Chateau Ste. Michelle winery. I hated the message that that sent to young people—break the law and make a horse’s hind end of yourself, with St. John’s Wort or not, and get somebody else to pay for your blow out wedding. Don’t forget that Vili Fulauu literally failed to hold down a job at McDonalds and I don’t know if he ever did get his GED. His mother had not filed income taxes for 10 years. This came out when she had the nerve to sue the school district. I think that they gave her $1.
Ironically, she is from California. Her father, John Schmitz was a GOP State Senator, and U.S.Congressman - an ultra conservative, from Orange County. We don’t need her, back here ;) Thanks!
It isn’t that I want her to move here. It is only that if she wants to break petty laws, California is the place to do it.
Very true !
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Schmitz fathered two children by one of his former students. Ruined his career and his wife’s career as a political commentator.
Suffice it to say, Schmitz was not a conservative. Not only did he father two children by an other woman, he made it clear he did not financially, or in any other way support the children. The mother died when they were quite young, and he wouldn’t have anything to do with them, so a friend of his wife took custody. When she died, his two children became wards of the state. Total dirtbag. Not surprising that his daughter is what she is.
You are correct; I would have been better suited to have said he posed as an ultra conservative politician. His actual existence, as you point out, was a far different matter. Thank you, for your reply.
Well, the Rock is part Samoan, and I think that Vili is too, so that may be the reason.
