Getting a reluctant child to give an elderly relative a kiss often requires some gentle persuasion.
But parents who force their sons and daughters to give granny a peck on the cheek may be doing them harm, it was claimed yesterday.
For instead of helping a child learn about showing affection, it may blur the boundaries of what is acceptable when it comes to physical contact, according to Lucy Emmerson, coordinator of the Sex Education Forum.
She even claims that encouraging a youngster to blow a kiss, high-five or wave to a relative instead will help them avoid future sexual exploitation. Children need to learn from the start about the importance of consent and that “their bodies are their own”, she says. …

I thought “blurring the boundaries” was the goal of these groups? Like showing 6 yr olds that sodomy is natural love and showing 11 yr olds how to put condoms on bananas and making abortion pills open to access to 13 yr olds?
maybe when Mommy 1 or 2 tries to force a child to take naked baths together, that is blurring the lines?
apparently not, since judges have ordered parental custody awarded to partners who did that.
But it is OK to give them a condom in kindergarten and show them how to put it on.
Do they teach anything else in schools besides “how to” sex topics?
I don’t recall when math, history, geography or reading was discussed. Do they still teach that?
Scary thought is that a generation of Flukes is being reared.

That being said I did know, as a child, one old lady who was just right out of a cartoon. She’d mush you and squish you and kiss you; you’d be half dead by the time she got through with you.

I think (and I was really young and only met this gal a few times) she was the Italian born mother of my godmother. She was very large too.
Did I survive? Yes. Did this confuse me about sexual boundaries or personal space? No.
These people should really all go work in soup kitchens. There are people who could use their energy and desire to “help”.

Is that ‘year 5’ of school (fifth grade) or ‘year 5’ of the kid’s life? I’d hope it’s the former but can’t be certain.
