Will the Chargers Beat the Broncos?
Yes, big time
Yes, close game
No, close game
Not a chance!
It depends if Manning has a good game or bad game.
I’m one of the few who called Chargers last week, but this one is a bridge too far.
Hard to say.
Chargers found the weak spot in Denver by not letting them have the ball.
I assume Denver has figured this out.
Denver will not lose until they have to play away from Mile High. Then they will lose.
The Sports Authority Field at Mile High, CO forecast for Jan 12 is 34 degrees and Partly Cloudy. There is 45 percentage chance of rain and 13 mph winds from the West-Northwest.
The question is how much the Chargers are going to beat them by.
“Will the Chargers beat the Broncos?”
Wouldn’t bet on it.
I sure hope so.
AS a Colts fan I’ll be rooting for the Broncos only because the Chargers have always had the Colts number.
Has to happen for the AFC Championship game to be where it belongs at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Isn’t there a certain game time temperature — below which Manning typically chokes?
Below freezing, it is said. Temps predicted above that in Denver.
|Record (Kickoff temperature 32 degrees or less)||Stats|
|3-7 overall record||15 TDs, 11 INTs, 215-240, 60%|
|1-3 vs. Patriots||5 TDs, 7 INTs, 89-161, 55%|
|0-3 in Postseason||4 TDs, 7 INTs, 78-132, 59%|
It is most likely that the Broncos will beat themselves.
If it goes anything like Broncobama vs Romney...Broncos win.
I will wait for Bendy’s take before I weigh in.
Manning seems to have addressed that this year. He has found a pair of gloves he really likes.
Manning is prone to throw the playoff ending interception. If not Sunday, next Sunday
Yes, the Chargers will beat the Broncos in a close game. Peyton Manning has a poor playoff record against the Chargers. The Chargers are familiar with playing in Denver. The Chargers are hot at the right time, just like the Ravens were last year. Philip Rivers will play better than he did in Cincinnati last week. The Charger defense has improved dramatically in the last few weeks with the addition of linebacker Melvin Ingraham. The Charger offensive line has also improved.
Bolo ties are selling out fast in San Diego, and I will be wearing mine on Sunday. “San Diego Super Chargers....lighting bolts will fill the sky eye eye!”
Chargers are my second favorite team mainly because of Phillip Rivers.
Phillip Rivers on a mobile calls into the show to talk about the Chargers wildcard win over the Bengals.
Chargers beat the Broncos?
Oh just hell no!
I’d like to think so, but probably not happening. Peyton is just too much.
As a Raiders fan, I sincerely hope not.
When are you getting out of jail?
how many times has manning been one and out?
They lost last year’s playoff game at Mile High. No reason they can’t do it again.
Why? The Chargers already beat the Broncos once this season...
The Chargers benefited last week from one of the most inept second half performances, not just in playoff history, but in NFL history. The Bengals were a far better team, and moved the ball at will. They are not even in the AFC elite. Bolts cannot count on such luck again. They will lose by two touchdowns.
If past performance predicts future outcomes, Manning will give them a chance.
” Then they will lose.”
Well, then that would be the Superbowl.
“Below freezing, it is said.”
That was disproved against the Titans on 12/9/2013.
“It is most likely that the Broncos will beat themselves.”
When they got beat, that is almost always what has happened this year. Penalties, turnovers, stupidity, etc.

That’s my take also. With four Bengal turnovers under their belt, and innumerable drive-killing/drive-sustaining penalties by the Bengals, San Diego was only ahead by 10 points until that last interception.
You are a very, very wise man... Star--
But I cannot offer an informed opinion... until I do some serious research.
While I have uncovered that the Denver Broncos have some very... very good assets--
The Chargers' assets are more numerous... and they are willing to bare their souls.
So, this... will take some time--
And serious... drinking.
While I really, really appreciate... you letting me help with the research, Bend--
I must bring up that the question on this thread is... "Will the Chargers Beat the Broncos?" in the football game Sunday, not who has the best cheerleaders.
Oh, Mile High Manning will prevail... as I already said so on the NFL Playoffs Week 2 LIVE THREAD.
Well, that... makes sense.
On with... the research!
Probably not, but so much depends on the will to win. If a team is “up” and determined, it can make a dramatic difference.
The line is -9 1/2 Denver (55 1/2 O/U) (33-23 Denver).
I will not disagree with the eyecandy you offer. However my love for the Broncs and Bolts is probably equated by your love of the Skins and Iggles. Only the Raiders hold a lower position in Milton's circle of hell. Possibly 13 out of 9.
The chargers are confident because they won the Thursday night game in Denver, but this time they are not going to be facing a lethargic Broncos team sleepwalking through the game as if they’re totally bored.
It may be close, but the Broncos are not going to let themselves be “Ravened” twice.
Let’s see if the “Tebow Curse” continues in Denver.
They haven’t won a playoff game since they traded him to the Jets.
I got this from informed sources.
Well they’ve only had one chance since Tebow left. That’s a bit hasty to be calling it a “curse”.
And going 26 & 6 in reg season games since Tebow left is not that shabby.
Well you can do what you want, but until they win, I'm calling it a curse.
