37 nuclear missile launch officers are now being investigated under drug suspicions, according to Fox
That many?? Seriously??
The military purge continues.
I find it hard to believe. More likely Obastard is looking for an excuse to replace them with his loyal cronies.
What the heck is going on? Is this a preplanned purge?
But then, he has made the military hostile to patriotic Americans and turned it into a homosexual freak show.
37 out of a total of how many?
These may be the EEOC hires.
installing MuslimBrother.AlQuaida types where they can do the most damage?
I don’t know. The Shepster announced it was a developing story, but I have had to turn him off, since he bagn advocating for a father who wanted to murder his unborn child in Texas. Sick twisted Shep.
Maybe these are the ones who are not EEOC hires?
Could these be guys that refused to follow orders, say, in the Charleston SC arena?
The first rule of tyrants is to make sure the military is loyal to you in any showdown. Many have speculated about where the US military would stand in any serious attempt to remove Obama by force. You can bet that he has had his functionaries doing all they can to make sure the DOD will support him in any actions he may take.
Yes, he is a bit nuts.
We are reducing the number of missiles according to START treaties. Ohio-class subs will be vacation four launch tubes each.
Maybe we don’t need all the officers, if we have less nukes?
Or, there is a purge of key personnel to support some upcoming nuke event. Key question will be, are these guys being replaced, or just removed.
This is a big story.
I just read it. The 37 aren’t busted for drugs, they’re being busted for cheating on (having the answers for) a monthly proficiency exam, most likely their EWO (Emergency War Order) exam if I had to guess. Might also be a Code Handler exam. Missileers are/were required to train and test monthly on a number of key areas but the EWO training and exam are the most important since it involves the procedures and knowledge to execute nuclear release orders. Not sure what the exam passing scores are now but they used to be 90% minimum passing score under SAC. Failing an exam requires retraining and you are decertified until you are successfully retrained on the concepts.
To some extent, this went on even back in the 70s but where I was at it didn’t involve the EWO exams, it was usually monthly code handler exams where the questions became so chickenshit that became stump the dummy exercises. When it comes to the EWO exams there is no excuse, it is the most critical part of the job.
Many of us who were old SAC hands predicted this sad state of affairs in the early 90s when they did away with SAC and its strict rigor. The fighter jocks took over and all bets were off. Serving in SAC might have been a daily rectal exam experience but they tried to ensure that nuclear weapons and warplans were protected and strictly controlled.
Launch Officer is extremely stressful, as well as being incredibly boring. That some turn to drugs isn’t surprising.
The Air Force has always had problems with Launch Crew individuals, but never this publicized, I think.
“Many of us who were old SAC hands predicted this sad state of affairs in the early 90s when they did away with SAC and its strict rigor.”
34 investigated for cheating. 3 for drugs.
They must’ve been involved in some sort of prayer service. One or two ‘druggies’ I can see, but that many???
With that many, it sounds more like they are more “good” than ‘bad’.
I was a member of the 44th at Ellsworth. Our guests from Vandenberg always gave us high grades for readiness.
Obummer is trying to correct our neutron inequality problems with Iran.
Never been to Ohio and I do not plan to go on vacation there, ever. Mason-Dixon line is far enough North to me.
Thank you for providing that insight. The suspicion comes from Obama’s recent purge of top level generals who were involved with the nuclear program, and the mysterious nuke disappearance in Texas.
Tell Vladimir that after the election I’ll have more FLEXIBILITY — TO COMMIT TREASON AND LEAVE THE UNITED STATES NAKED BEFORE YOUR NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Once the US is naked, she’ll be more than happy to become communist.
THAT’S what’s going on, aided and abetted by the fools on Capitol Hill!
The Tyrant and Holder cannot quite decide
whether to put the Black Panthers
or al Qaeda in charge of the nuclear weapons,
and is thinking of diving them up.
Same here. You don't want to know the words I hollered at the tv. He's acting like the woman is the "patient, patient, patient, patient, dead, dead, dead patient", when it's the baby who is in need of care. As for 37 officers being investigated, we need to know if that's across all stations or a select few. Either way, it seems a large number and why now? I thought hussein was supposed to make a personnel announcement this afternoon but still haven't heard it.
According to the Shepster, the father is a ‘poor, poor man’. No, he’s an aspiring murderer.
Ahh SAC, AKA the Real Air Force. The best of the best in the worst assignments. Why not, Minot? LOL
It is simply amazing how time has morphed the Cold War into a time of stablility and sanity. Of course, when compared to today’s leadership, it really was.
Time to replace them with the WOPR.
He needs to replace them with 37 muslim brotherhood types who will be willing to nuke an American city. No kidding.
Not only that, but he already replaced one base of lower-level nuclear launch officers.
May 8, 2013: AP Exclusive: Air Force sidelines 17 ICBM officers
The Air Force stripped an unprecedented 17 officers of their authority to control - and, if necessary, launch - nuclear missiles after a string of unpublicized failings, including a remarkably dim review of their unit's launch skills. The group's deputy commander said it is suffering "rot" within its ranks...
But in April it quietly removed 17 officers at Minot from the highly sensitive duty of standing 24-hour watch over the Air Force's most powerful nuclear missiles, the intercontinental ballistic missiles that can strike targets across the globe. Inside each underground launch control capsule, two officers stand "alert" at all times, ready to launch an ICBM upon presidential order.
That’s a real concern.
This could be more than a purge...
Vacating, sorry. it’s a news item today, the boomers are taking missiles out of four tubes per sub.
definitely! he’s slipped them into all sorts of high security jobs already....why not the nuke trigger jobs too? its almost a given......that is what he’s up to... with this latest odd purge....
Too bad they got rid of the 3901st. The dumping of all things SAC was a portent of the trouble now.
Riding the pony while in the MPT was an occurrence I watched from the cab now and then I do not recall ever knowing someone cheating on a T1 or Codes test.
From waht I hear in the field today the morale is so much worse than the 70s and 80s when I pulled Alerts. It seems the squadrons pull the crew members in for additional duties and make-work on most of their days off during the month. The complaints are they may have just one or two days off each month.
Its all part of the overall plan to diminish the capability of our military. Odumbo has his targets picked and needs the military out of the way.
“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.
An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”
- Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Orator - 106-43 B.C.
Every launch crew member I’ve met have been half nuts, in proportion only second to pararescuers.
Those are some serious crazies!
soon to be replaced by 0bama loyalists
Thanks. That made a lot more sense.
I have a relative that was in the silos and his stories, the few he could ever tell, were chiiiiiilling. Each one could have been a full length movie.
I was an assistant ops officer in the 66th, chief of ops/plans and an Ops Controller in the old 4th ACCS from 85-90. One of my best assignments.
