I don't usually watch this show, but I was waiting for someone.
In tonight's episode, a police officer was shot a 14 year old black boy, that had seemingly shot another police officer. (It later turned out to be a ricochet from her own weapon)
Character's several times mentioned that this officer was being targeted because the new mayoral administration wanted to punish or go after an officer. Later a prosecutor wanted the officer to plead guilty of a hate crime, that the audience knows he isn't guilty of.
They never mentioned de Blasio by name, but I was amazed at the degree of implied criticism there was of him.
Dick Wolf knows what’s coming. So does every member of the NYPD. As soon as a non-Black officer shoots a Black, all Hell will break loose (regarding of the circumstances). de Blasio will sell out that officer in seconds.
For thousands of years, people poorer than the poorest new yorker has packed their meager belongings, wrapped their feet in rags and got out of town when faced with the oppression they saw coming at them.
I have exactly zero pity for anyone in that rathole that places their material belongings over what’s about to happen to them. NYPD cops can get hired anywhere. They have no excuse.
Hometown loyalty? Sometimes you gotta face reality. The state like Cali is lost and it ain’t going back to sanity.
A lot of the SVU shows were not only liberal, but just plain leftist, which is why we stopped watching it years ago.
[One of my friends is a disabled NYPD officer with more wounds than you want to know about. And the personal and career sacrifices he made to keep NYC safe are only known to a few people. The brass often made the city more dangerous, esp. regarding homegrown terrorists, because they ignored the Intell that this officer was providing them.
Fortunately he was able to find a middle-ranking officer with half a brain who allowed him to set up an intelligence surveillance program that became extremely important when the Nyack-Brinks robbery/Murders took place by the Weathermen/May 19th Communist Organization and their Black Liberation Army/ex Black Panthers comrades, along with some from the Republic of New Africa, a maoist, internal black state extremist group).
I just mention this because I’ve been involved in both law enforcement/police work (but not as a police officer - Organized Crime NYC Task Force), as well as internal security work (worked undercover SDS/Protests, etc)), and have watched TV shows totally screw up “reality”.
I haven’t watch any of the anti-terrorism shows (the one with Kevin Bacon - 24 Hours?, and a couple of the newer ones), but I hope that they are more accurate than what is being written in the newspapers and on some News shows about the NSA, FBI, CIA, etc.
One thing I can tell you, from experience, is that the FBI has been politicized and PCized to the point that in some cases, they have been neutered by their leadership (starting with the 9/11 Field Agents whose warnings were ignored, to the mentality of two leaders, Freeh and Comy).
As for some of my credentials, I have been part of a delegation that briefed Pres. Nixon on our trips to So. Vietnam and Cambodia, briefed the #3 man at the FBI, Bill Sullivan, on domestic subversion because the head of the Justice Dept’s Internal Security Division was a fool and I exposed him as such, and worked with Congressional committees on Communist subversion and protests (and some Soviet psyops/disinformation programs in the US).
Back then, many of our protectors actually listened to the people in the “big muddy”. Not so today.
Yes, but they weren't tonight. I was surprised how much they slammed him, even considering he hasn't been in office long enough to do anything.
