I remember Karen Black was so hot, she had a wandering left eye and it became like a beauty mark for her.

I was told that the name “Gilligan” came from from Newton Minnow

Is he who the SS Minnow was named after?

Ironic, isn't it? Minnow turned out to be right, as exemplified by the show using his name. Which I watched 5-10 times per episode, by the way, as it was on after school.

Re: Skipper = Jonas Grumby

Now that I would never have come up with. I wonder how many episodes there were when they mentioned the names of the professor and the skipper.

What about Gilligan’s last name? Lol.

Well now. Never knew Sharon Tate had a role or two in the Beverly Hillbillies.

Learned something.

She didn't make that much of an impression on me. Looking at her pictures now, she reminds me a little of Loretta Swit. She didn't stay cute very long. Maybe her lifestyle choices? Married four times; one lasted only 18 months.

Is this a Bush Shot Reagan conspiracy thread now?

Actually it’s uncertain whether “Gilligan” is his first or last name.

Here’s another, Lovey’s maiden name- Eunice Wentworth.

Besides Dawn Wells, there's Barbara Eden, and... well...

How about Elizabeth Montgomery? Smokin'! And hubby bein' a homo, I'm sure she got lonely.

By the way, Sharon Tate had a thing going on with Jethro during the filming. That ruined it for me.

Thank you. Thank you.

Now whenever the question of Ginger or Mary Ann comes up...

Keep these images of Tina Louise in mind.

Saturday morning remember the "The Secrets of Isis"

And when she wore those glasses.....Yowza!

Her name is JoAnna Cameron, I don't think she did anything after that, but she sure made me look forward to Saturday mornings.

It was a treat to watch these shows after school, and when I saw them they were on second and third reruns in the early/mid 70s. Just saw another thread the original Adam West Batman is being released on DVD. I gotta pre order that, and make popcorn.

P..S wasn’t Sharon Tate also on Petticoat Junction?

How about Elizabeth Montgomery?

She was too much like my mom.

But yeah, she's majorly sweet. They never ever played up her sex appeal in any way though. Unlike NBC's Jeannie, ABC's Bewitched kept midriffs covered, as I recall.

Samantha was always a wife. Jeannie wanted to be a wife.

Just don’t try to tell me you knew all these names without having to look them up somewhere. :)

Wow! She looks a little like Liv Tyler.

A few years ago I saw an interview with Sherwood Schwartz, the guy who thought of Gilligan. He was complaining about back in the day how they had to cover up the girls belly buttons for the TV censor

The comment about Mary Ann, Ginger, and I Dream of Jeannie made me think of this for some strange reason. You never saw their navels.

Skipper too, as I recall.

Alan Hale Jr. was a very decent person, according to everything I've heard.

I remember reading that well after the show ended, he'd dress up and get his Skipper on and go visit sick kids in hospitals and that kind of thing, just because they were sick kids away from home. He had a restaurant for a while IIRC.
