I have one ancestor I know of who fought in the Revolution - Samuel Brison, born in Scotland - settled in Stephens City, VA after the War. I believe, but cannot yet substantiate, that he left Scotland as a child during the Highland Clearances. Still digging for information on him and many other of my people.
