COLUMBIA, SC A man was forced to strip in early morning near-freezing temperatures by a suspect with a handgun Saturday morning at Tonys Lounge in Eastover, according to Richland County Sheriffs Department.
The suspect forced the man to take off his clothes at the Congaree Road club at around 6 a.m., then forced him into the victims car, said Sgt. Curtis Wilson, spokesman for the department. The suspect got into the vehicle with the victim, and the car took off. Friends of the victim saw the incident and followed the vehicle, Wilson said.
The suspect fired shots at the pursuing vehicle, but no one was injured, he said.
The suspect then forced the victim out of the vehicle, and deputies gave chase for a short time, Wilson said. The chase ended at a dead-end road when the suspect jumped out and fled on foot.
The suspect was apprehended, Wilson said. He expects to release the identity of the suspect soon.
Wilson did not say why the man was forced to take off his clothes.
At a bar at 6am? What could possibly go wrong?
Losing hand in a strip poker card game? Victim renegged?
Gay bar?
Someone didn’t pay for their drugs?
More missing from the story than there is in the story.
To be sure he did not have a concealed weapon.
Eastover is an area populated by a certain world leaders sons.
Suspect. That is so funny. The man was stripped naked by someone who is suspected of making him strip, then he is kidnapped by a man who is suspected of kidnapping him, all while being witnessed and followed by people who suspected him of having stripped and kidnapped a guy. So much uncertainty for something so certain. I wonder if the perpetrator was suspected of having a description. I didn’t see one in the professionally journalized article.
Was the perp a big guy, muscular, strong Austrian accent (did he speak Austrian, asked Obama), and was he naked himself?
People who will elect Lindsey Graham will do all kinds of weird things.
Just another day in Columbia.
“just leave our children in peace”
Suspect was last seen heading for Utah.
The rescued victim of this forced strip-down, kidnap/ abduction/attempted 6am carjacking has declined to be interviewed and stated for personal reasons, he’d prefer to remain anonymous. Permission to publish his photos ( both face and body) has not been obtained as of now.
“Wilson did not say why the man was forced to take off his clothes.”
Weeeeell lets just think on it for a minute. :-)
With P.C. we are always left figuring out what they aren’t telling us.
True. I’m of the old school that says the most likely reason is usually the reason. :-)
The suspect, what caliber of gun was SHE carrying?
Your post got me thinking. More likely he was worried about a narc wearing a wire. Those narks have gotten more sophisticated in where they hide them. Taking the shirt off just isn’t adequate these days.
And the chase car was probably the backup crew for the narc.
It all makes sense now.
See my post 18. The media usually doesn’t post pictures of undercover narcs.
