APNewsbreak: Rodman checks into rehab center
AP ^ | 1-18-14 | DAN GELSTON

Dennis Rodman has checked into an undisclosed alcohol rehabilitation center to treat his long-time struggle with alcoholism, his agent says.

Darren Prince declined on Saturday to say which facility will treat Rodman and how long he will be there. Rodman recently returned to the United States from his latest trip to North Korea.

Unless the treatment center also does lobotomies and/or organic brain disorder treatment, Rodman will be back out the same as he went in.

A clear attempt at damage control. It means nothing. Rodman won’t take it seriously and it’s very likely he’ll never complete the treatment. The left will buy it though, just as they bought it when Mel Gibson did it.

They say that Kim “dung” whatzizface is a pretty mean drunk too. Just ask his uncle.

That’s why those two get along so well.

What I find curious is what caused Rodman to wig-out and become the D-list celebrity he is?

When he was with the Pistons, he was the most non-descript person on the team, just another baller. All of a sudden he goes to the Spurs, and he has red hair, sulks on the bench, takes his shirt off....NBA damn near became the WWE for crying out loud.

Wearing dresses and makeup...maybe the same thing that happened to Miley Cyrus...

As a side note, I wonder if it’s that “Celebrity Rehab” center that’s geared towards the celebs whose careers have tanked but still crave the camera and think that putting their addictions front and center will somehow resurrect their pathetic careers....................

Hey, Rodman....why don’t you go to N Korea for rehab...I hear they have great “rehab” centers.

what a jerk...typical Lib ....go to Cuba, or China or N Korea for your medical care..!! After all, those countries are SOOOOO much better, isn’t that what you’re always ranting about?

His anti-American/pro-communist leanings made him do it. The alcohol was just the switch that released it.

Unless his treatment includes Liberalism detox they may as well forget about it.

Without the Liberal detox once he is out on the street again he will be hobnobbing with communist dictators again and he will be right back where he started.

Apparently Rodman considered suicide after a girlfriend broke up with him when he was with the Pistons. He went to the SAS with the idea that he was just going to do whatever made him happy.

He’s a nutcase, but he was a rebounding machine....

Was it here that I once read that there is a rehab center in the L.A. area (where else?) (or more than one like it!) where you are driven up to the door of a nice, elegant modern clinic, the paparazzi are waiting outside, get out of the limo which drives off, walk inside, go to the reception desk, take care of the formalities, payments, etc, jeez, it takes so damn long, finally are able to start walking that long corridor straight toward the back door exit, open it, go out, through the nice manicured garden to the circular driveway, where your chauffeur is waiting, engine running, the Eagles playing on the cassette tape deck inside, no paparazzis are allowed anywhere near, get in that limo and ride off to party down as ever before!

I guess being “helped” by Dr. Drew didn’t work. That’s the problem with not being anonymous. Your failures are out there for all to see.

And isn’t it interesting that the co-founder of AA made the decision that they should stay anonymous because of a professional baseball player. He went around telling how AA had saved his life then got drunk. Lots of people were then saying “AA doesn’t work.”
