President Barack Obama says he backs limited marijuana legalization because it could help reduce the number of African American and Hispanic men who are jailed for drug offenses.

I had to check to see if this was satire. Nope. This is the mind of our President. Since blacks are arrested at proportionately larger numbers than others, we need to lower the bar for them to make it fair. THAT's his answer. No facts about effects, medical opinions, cost for policing or even revenue from taxation and collection. NOPE! He wants pot legalized so fewer black people get in trouble for it.

My head is going to explode!

Let’s call Obama out for being the RACIST POS that he is. The same thing can and should be said of everybody that supports this worthless bag of human debris.

Why not? The Democrats said that black men were using cocaine and raping white women in order to get the WOD started.

Race and class warfare in a couple of sentences. What a guy...

Virtually nobody if any color gets locked up for “smoking marijuana.” They get jailed for selling pot, which furthermore is usually only one of the drugs on offer from these poor oppressed minority drug salesmen.

Bambi’s sure on a race roll all of a sudden, isn’t he? That’s one thing that always works for him, and I guess he’s run out of other excuses for his complete failure of an administration.

If they are so damn poor, how can they afford to buy pot?

“...for his complete failure of an administration.”

...for his complete failure as a human being.

There, fixed it.

I wonder what he proposes to do about the fact that more minorities are locked up for murder BECAUSE THEY COMMIT MORE MURDERS!

Middle class kids don’t get locked up for smoking pot, and poor kids do

White kids don’t get locked up for murder, and black kids do. Middle class kids don’t get locked up for murder, and poor kids do. Soon, you'll get homicide sentences being commuted for race and class reasons. And the weird thing is that blacks say whites commit crimes at the same rate as blacks except whites don't get caught or are punished with a slap on the wrist. I can't tell if they're serious or just being contrary.

Rand Paul made a point about race and drugs a while back that I hadn’t thought about before that makes some sense.

He said that rate of use is high among minorities and they tend to go to court without an attorney. In my experience, public defenders are mostly just as bad as no attorney. Police also go for the easy prey that brings convictions.

Unfortunately the only real good answer is to cut down on the drug use. It contributes nothing of value to the individual or to society.

Based on the intelligence of our Commander In Chief, I bet you could sell him on the idea of reduced sentences or a 1 time forgiveness law for a minority if they happen to murder another minority. This might help the stats that show minorities are arrested at extreme disproportionately higher numbers than European Americans. Without thinking about the racial implications (as he didn't think through on this articles issue), he'd proudly run to a podium with the idea.... in the name of fairness and justice of course.

Obama isn't just "not smart". He is a positive fraud. He never worked in the private sector because he wasn't qualified. I doubt he has a triple digit IQ. I doubt he legitimately got accepted, attended and graduated from the universities he attended. Obama is an affirmative action elected stooge.

Yeah. Great. More brain dead, lazy, unemployable Americans.

What could go wrong there?

From the article:
“A November 2011 report by the Justice Department said that young African American men comprise only one percent of the population, but commit 27 percent of the nation’s murders. (RELATED: Obama blames racism, guns for Zimmerman acquittal in emotional, rambling surprise speech)

But the ACLU report claimed the disparate arrests shows “staggering racial bias,” and urged marijuana legalization.”

Middle class kids don’t get locked up for smoking pot, and poor kids do

True, but not comprehensive.

Well over 90% of convictions in USA are from plea bargains. When a person, of whatever color, is arrested for committing a crime, quite often they are found to be in possession of illegal drugs.

Since the possession charge is a slam dunk legally, the other charges are very often dropped or reduced and the person goes to jail on a plea bargain for "possession."

Since more "minorities" and poor people get arrested for other crimes, more of them are found to be and prosecuted for possesion as a result.

Cops do not, AFAIK, aggressively purse otherwise non-criminal, non-dealers for pot.

But I could certainly be wrong about that. If you get the cops mad at you for some other reason, all bets are off.

BTW, the real scandal here is the plea bargain system and the immense and unchecked power it gives prosecutors.

“If they are so damn poor, how can they afford to buy pot?”

Even while illegal, pot is cheaper than booze on a “per night” basis (the amount needed to stay wasted for an evening of partying).

Legalization definitely has the alcohol companies worried.
