Duluth News Tribune ^ | January 21, 2014 | Peter Passi

This was the fourth year in a row that Global Village had marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a sale and a sign in its Superior Street window proclaiming: “25 percent off everything black!”

Rachel Mock, proprietor of the Duluth store, said she had received no complaints in the past, but this year proved a different story, thanks in large part to a social networking firestorm touched off by a Facebook post.

Democrats must play the race card for the next two elections and Obama is the first to scream it and media sucks it up.

Everything offends them. They go around desperately searching for things to be offended by so as to maintain their false "victim" status. Nothing and no one carries bigger chips on their shoulders than the black segment of the population (or at least that fraction of it who voted for the turd in the white house)

Why has nobody ever protested about Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving?

Somebody once told me that it was racist to say “black coffee”: Stunned, I wisecracked back, “what should I call it, African-American coffee?” And the reply was, “it’s natural coffee.” And this person was serious about all of this, no joke. To some, saying black in any context can be construed as.racist.

I wonder if anyone was ever offended by a store holding a “white sale?” Folks are so sensitive these days.

I’m always hearing about people slipping on “black ice”; what’s the race of the ice got to do with anything?

You have got to love that a “progressive” gets caught up in the same garbage they dish out, and that is what this store owner is.

Coffee doesn’t have a race, and if it is offended it needs to speak for itself.

At work someone (guess their ethnicity) complained that one of the paper recycling bins was labeled “Colored Paper” and s/b labeled “Paper of Color”. Cry me a river.

Years ago in college, my lib prof ‘corrected’ me when I used “chink in the armor”. The word chink’ has racist connotations, she says. Silence, then the entire class erupted in laughter.

“Paper of Color’? That goes with “People of Color”.

Better to use ‘Non-White’, or perhaps “Undocumented Paper”?

I once had a black co-worker tell me that devil’s food cake is racist because it is black. Angel food cake, on the other hand, was also racist because it is WHITE! ROFL

I then asked him about bad things that were associated with darkness and the dead of night, he replied that that is also racist.

What can someone DO with such logic? It staggers the imagination!
