This squirrel apparently used to live with the cat as another pet in this woman’s home. The squirrel finally went out on its own, but still comes back from time to time to play with the cat.

Cute video. I always worry about rabies with animals living in the wild.

Three observations:

(1) The cat needs to go on a diet.

(2) The cat will need flea and tick protection.

(3) They are very cute together.

Thank you for the post and ping.

The cat thinks the squirrel is a smallish cat with a fine tail, and the squirrel thinks the cat is a giant, weird-looking squirrel.

Siblings. They get along so well.

You don't have to worry with squirrels, there's never been a recorded case of a squirrel having rabies........The reason being, any squirrel unlucky enough to be bitten by another animal having rabies would likely end up being eaten by them.

"rabies"

rodents rarely get rabies. There is no known case of a rodent transmitting rabies to a human. Squirrels can get a sort of ringworm brain disease that resembles rabies.

Kitty’s being as gentle and patient as it would be with a small kitten. Folks would be surprised just how often adult kitties will tolerate kittenish nonsense with seeming fondness for the little one...same deal with the squirrel here.

Omg, that is so cute.

I live in a town that has both gray and black ones. I have a squirrel feeder aka cat tv. It’s 3/4 gray to 1/4 black, and the black ones are smaller and their tails aren’t as bushy.

You’re right. There are many examples of interspecies feeding of orphaned pups or kittens.

If the litters are raised together, they tend to identify the other species as family for life.

The cat and the squirrel were raised together. Lifelong friendship ensued. It’s great.

That is too funny! How many of us get that close to a squirrel to check? Bravo!!!!

Squeeks is such a pretty kitty. Please give her a kiss from her friend in snowy NJ.
