Woman spends SIX WEEKS trying to UNenroll from ObamaCare
Mail Online ^ | 21 January 2014 | Daily Mail Reporter

A woman claims she spent six weeks trying to un-enroll from her Affordable Care Act plan, after the 'terminate' button on the website failed to work.

Lesli Hill, 62, from Missouri, was sent back and forth between operators on the Marketplace and her own health insurance provider as she attempted to cancel her 'Obamacare' plan.

She says that despite calling the helpline, sending emails and chatting online to a helpdesk, she was unable to get off the plan and ended up driving 100 miles to get help from her own insurance company.

Ms Hill is part of the 'high risk' pool and bought an Affordable Care Act policy for $950. When she found out she could get a better deal with her previous insurance company, she wished to cancel her plan.

'I thought it would be fairly simple, I called my insurance provider and they informed me they couldn’t cancel my federal exchange policy and that I would have to do that through the exchange,’ Ms Hill told FoxNews.

Ms Hill was told by an ObamaCare operator that she needed to call her insurance company, who passed her back to the Federal Exchange.

Ms Hill claims the terminate button on Obamacare's website did not work, and that she spent ‘several hours a day’ on hold with the Health Insurance Marketplace.

I haven’t gone to that website, period. I assumed it would be instant fraud and identity theft backed up with losing my insurance.

Did you read where a security pro hacked into healthcare.gov in four minutes flat? Anyone putting their information on that site is just begging to be hurt by identity fraud.

I wonder if the Eagles ever thought about Big Brother when they were writing that song? It was eerily prescient.

When a white collar hacker says he can hack their websites in 4 mins or less and download 70,000 records in that time it pains me to think what a dedicated black hacker could do in just a little bit more time and create personal hell for millions of people because of an inept government.

My company is subcontracted to a large government IT contractor responsible for fixing healthcare.gov

The initial comments from those in the trenches are and I quote, "this is an epic f***** failure".. personal information being sent in clear text, software riddled with vulnerabilities, and an infrastructure that needs to be scrapped, and never to be brought online again.

The obvious answer to this security problem is to have Eric Holder file some high publicity suits against Target to distract the flock.

And yet, it's claimed by the government that it's being "fixed". From what you and other IT pros have stated, that isn't even possible.

Thank goodness I'm a high info Freeper. I've known about the huge security risks with that website almost since before it was launched. It's a massive betrayal of trust that the American public hasn't been fully apprised of how bad it really is.

She could have spent six minutes cancelling her bank account and opening a new one.

In itself, that wouldn't do any good. The IRS would detect the opening of a new account by SS# and resume the auto payment from there.

Can't do that with your identity, though. Once healthcare.gov has that in its database, your life is up for grabs.

Tha's sort of reminiscent of the East Berlin wall. It's also akin to living in North Korea. If you're in, you can't get out. If you try to get out, you'll be shot, but in the case above, you're going to have the most unpleasant experience of your life.

What amazes me, is that she actually did get out of the federal program, and back into a private plan she wanted.

Unfortunately, she’s now in the ‘system’. Don’t know if there’s any way for her to ever completely extricate herself from that.

Some IT guru on Fox said that you don’t have to go to the site to be vulnerable. Apparently, all IRS and Social Security personal data for every American was uploaded into the Obamacare system at the beginning.

If that's truly the case, then the mother of all data breaches is coming. It's just a matter of time until all of that data is hacked.

I'm sure that's a violation of the law; but what does our government care about the law?

Don is actually who I meant. I have pretty much purged them from my mind after listening to one of his pious environmental rants about the evil peasants messing up his Walden paradise while he flies around in his private jet.
